Cogwheel Example of Poor Posture....

--------------------------------------------------------------
This is one of the best bio-mechanical concept I've come cross. It's often used to explain how a misalignment in one section of your body ( the head, ribcage or pelvis) can trigger a dominoe effect throughout your entire frame.

Our body's major segments are like series of interlocking gears (cogwheels). When 1 out of the 3 gears get outta wack; the other gears get altered by nominal degrees. But moral of the story: All of this can be corrected !

Snapple Facts

Kinetic chain break down from head to toe:

1. The First Gear: Forward Head Posture

The chain reaction usually starts from staring down at a phone or computer screen.

• The Motion: Your head shifts forward, away from your centerline.

• The Gear Reaction: To keep your eyes facing forward instead of staring at the ground, your upper neck hyperextends, tilting this " cog" backward.

2. The Second Gear:
Rounded Shoulders & Thoracic Kyphosis

Because your head has moved forward, your center of gravity shifts. Your upper back must compensate to prevent you from falling over.

• The Motion: Your shoulders roll forward, and your upper back rounds into a slouch (kyphosis).

• The Gear Reaction: This "chest and upper back gear" rotates downward and forward. It compresses your ribcage, which can even limit how deeply you can breathe.

3. The Third Gear:
Anterior Pelvic Tilt
The rounding of your upper back shifts your weight again. To balance this out, your lower body has to make a drastic adjustment.

• The Motion: Your pelvis tilts forward, causing your belly to push out and your butt to stick out.

• The Gear Reaction: The "pelvic gear" rotates forward and downward. This creates an exaggerated arch in your lower back ( lordosis), pinching the lower spine and putting immense pressure on your lower back muscles.

Receive a complimentary lacrosse ball when you book a session today (Promo runs till Aug)

Retire that flimsy ass tennis ball that barely grips your muscle much less stretches it out effectively.

These rubber lacrosse balls are top-notch quality and works wonders whether your home laying down or moving around, out and about.

Personally, I like using it on my shoulder blades especially when i'm in a car or riding the subway. #comegetyours #pinandstretchtechnique #lacrosseballmassage by @artsofmassage
