Presenting “Equinox” My latest piece made this past February, entitled “Equinox”, symbolizes the transition from winter to spring and was created for Canterbury High School’s 2025 Metamorphosis Fashion Show. I wanted to explore the delicate beauty of each season, one beautiful thing transforming into another. The dress highlights this with ballet flats and a soft silhouette. The corset represents winter but also warmth, tying the two seasons together. To do this, I incorporated white pearled lace at the empire waist, gold grommets, champagne lace, and pages from a novel. The skirt, inspired by Anna Weszelovsky’s World of Wearables award-winning design from 2022, is made of six layers of gifted or thrifted bedsheets. I only had a short video to refer to and no instructions; as such, I made the pattern myself. The five inner layers are naturally dyed with materials including: orange peels, turmeric, onion skins, strawberries, cranberries, and beet juice, reflecting the earth and the seasonal theme. Post musical passion project!✨🪡This is my 5th annual Christmas dress, and I could not be more happy with it! I was inspired by vintage 1950’s simplicity sewing patterns, however I self drafted this dress!! I just love the dramatic presence this dress has, making it by far my new favourite piece!💫🎄 Let me know what you think!💜💜 by @as.is._
Made a mural! 🤷‍♀️🎨💫💫 + Vis grad show! “Layers of our time is an abstract art piece that explores connection, change, time, movement, life, and the tumultuous beauty of the ever-changing evolution of people, ourselves, and the world. Each panel represents the three main stages of life; through interaction and connection, the 3 panels individually represent emergence, occurrence, and result/destruction. Layers of Our Time intends to connect to each viewer individually, cause confusion, curiosity, and spark memory, and hopefully influence ambition.” by @as.is._

Presenting: “Torn Apart and Stitched Back Together”🌟 My piece, entitled “Torn Apart and Stitched Back Together”, was created as a project I had for my grade 12 art class. This dress is a visual representation of what I’ve been dealing with physically and mentally since I was 11, particularly this past year. This being, having Popliteal Artery entrapment Syndrome(PAES), a condition which creates chronic pain, my calf muscles pinching my popliteal artery, creating limited to no blood flow in my legs when they are bent. This required me to quit my sport of running, resulting in having 2 leg surgeries since May 2025. To materialize my experience, I made a corset(symbolizing the restriction), made from my own material of multicoloured threads, all intertwined, this displays the many different thoughts going on in my mind throughout my recovery journey, different people in my life and how our paths cross and how they help me heal, as well as all my various hobbies and interests that contribute to who I am and how I deal with what I’m going through. The thinness of the threads is also a representation of my arteries, as a large part of my condition, is that they are so small, making them susceptible to being pinched. These threads on the corset get gradually darker, towards the bottom of the corset as they lead into the skirt. The skirt consists of black lightweight fabrics, overlapping. I wanted the entire outfit to be messy but elegant, messy, to represent the complexity and ugliness of my experience with PAES, but elegant and visually stunning, to represent how before my surgeries I felt that I was alone in my experience and that people didn’t get or empathize with my pain or know how big of a deal it was, they knew it was there and they saw it, but not to the extent that I saw and felt it. Now after my surgeries, other people see it more, and I have less hope the longer my recovery takes. Lastly, I wanted to emphasize the importance of line through my piece, the horsehair braid trim on the layers of the skirt, the threaded fabric, and the silhouette of the corset, all very intentional and alike to the shape of my scars. 📸: @juliana_dr19 & @ariametallic by @as.is._

A closer look at a commission I made in late June for a professional ballerina for the Wabano centre gala! It was my first time making anything like this, I am very pleased with the fit and end result! Thank you so much to my dear friend Jayda, her mom Natalie, Allison Fisher, all the incredible dancers, especially Mia, and the Wabano centre as a whole for this incredible opportunity. by @as.is._

Presenting… The witch costume from Into The Woods, performed at my high school! This was an on stage transformation, beginning as an ugly old witch, transforming into a beautiful young woman! This was my first time making a transformation piece, and I am thrilled! I did this by having a secret pocket under the rags, in which her tulle skirt sat inside of, then with snaps located on all sides of the rag outfit and on the shoulders, she pulled the top out in front of her, the snaps came undone, the rags fell underneath the exposed tulle and corset, and bam, she transformed! Could not have done it without the talented witch! by @as.is._
Throwback to Into The Woods!💫🪄Here’s a quick glance of the costumes my team and I created it just under 3 monthes! These costumes were either made by me, designed by me and sewn by my lovely team, thrifted and altered, and a few being donated by the generous @orpheusmusicaltheatre 🫶🫶 Individual photos of the ones I made from scratch coming soon :)) Thank you thank you thank you! by @as.is._
