Tech Tuesday 🚛🔧 | Ep. 1 Taking care of my race gear means getting it to the track safely. After-school sports = hitching up the race trailer. Responsibility, details, done right. Results make noise. The process happens below the surface. by @asadavidsonracing
Same engine. Same gearing. Same tires. Different results. 🤔🏁 Comparing data from two sessions at NTK last weekemd, I found something interesting. 🟠 49 mph / 5,676 RPM 🟢 52 mph / 5,979 RPM The green lap actually started the backstretch slower coming out of the corner, but accelerated past the orange lap. Nothing was changed on the kart between sessions. We’ve had some frustrating engine problems this season, so I’m trying to understand what the data is telling us. LO206 racers and engine builders: What would you investigate first? Carburetor? Fuel delivery? Ignition? Something else? Always something to learn. 📊🏎️ #LO206 #Karting #RaceTelemetry #MotorsportEngineering #DriverDevelopment by @asadavidsonracing
Want to be excellent? 🏊‍♂️🏎️ Sometimes the fastest way forward isn’t the path everyone else is taking. Whether it’s staying underwater a little longer or finding a better line through a corner, the little decisions make a big difference. Don’t just follow. Think. Learn. Find your own way. #Karting #Swimming #Racecraft #AthleteMindset #YouthAthlete by @asadavidsonracing
🏆 FIRST SPORTS CAR WIN! 🏁🌎 P7 ➡️ P1! 🔥 Picked up my first official iRacing sports car victory in the Mazda MX-5 Cup at Oulton Park! 🏎️ 11 drivers. 11 laps. 📈 6 positions gained. ✅ Zero incidents. 🥇 First sports car win! After five years of racing karts, I’m having a blast learning to race cars, too! Huge thanks to @nictaylor_racing and @purepg_official for the coaching and helping me find those little details that make a big difference! 👊 Still lots to learn, but today I’m feeling on top of the world! 🌎🏆 #iRacing #MazdaMX5Cup #SimRacing #Karting #DriverDevelopment by @asadavidsonracing
Slow and steady doesn’t always win the race. Sometimes it gets you on the podium. 🥉 We didn’t have the pace we wanted at NTK this weekend, but kept the kart clean, stayed out of trouble and raced all the way to the finish. P3 to start the fall season. After four years, the LO206 Cadet chapter is beginning to wind down—but I’m still racing as hard as I can every time I get behind the wheel. 🏁 by @asadavidsonracing
The big one at NTK. 😳 Turn 1. Lap 1. Eight karts involved. Most importantly: everyone is OK. 🙌 Now for every racer’s favorite internet debate… 🏁 Racing incident or blame to be assigned? Let the stewards’ meeting begin. 👇 by @asadavidsonracing
First day trying FKL. Coach asked for “kind and gentle passes.” Instructions understood. 🫡 Finished the sessions consistently near the top of the overall times—even running the intermediate power setting. by @asadavidsonracing
“Looking for small details is a sign of big progress.” Another coaching session with Nic Taylor. This time at Oran Park Raceway, working past simply being faster and into understanding why — braking points, brake pressure, gear selection, racing line and where the next few tenths are hiding. 1:14.280 → 1:12.407. The faster you get, the smaller the details become. 🏁 Oran Park Raceway 🎮 iRacing 🎧 Coach: Nic Taylor by @asadavidsonracing
Not every race starts the way you hope. The swim didn’t meet my expectations, but the race wasn’t over. I kept fighting, rode the fastest bike split of every 11-year-old—averaging 21.2 mph in the wet—and finished 🥉 at the USA Triathlon Youth National Championships. Congratulations to John Coimbra on an incredible fourth consecutive national title, and to Tsimashenka for pushing him all the way to the line. A national championship decided by 0.05 seconds is a reminder of just how competitive this sport can be. Four straight years on the national podium. Grateful for my family, coaches, teammates, and everyone who’s helped me improve along the way. Back to work. 💪🚴🏊🏃 by @asadavidsonracing
Before the race, we gave our athletes one challenge: “Don’t save your race for the finish chute pictures. Be brave. Pace fast. Then faster. Then fastest. By the time you turn into the finish chute, there should be nothing left.” They accepted the challenge. In rain, against the best youth triathletes in the country, every Northshore Raider raced with courage and left everything on the course. At Northshore Raiders, we don’t measure success by finish position. We measure it by preparation. By race execution. By progress. Because results are a reflection of those things—not the definition of success. This weekend that mindset led to: 4th Place USA Triathlon Youth Age Group Team 🥇 National Champion: Naia Moctezuma 🥈 National Runner-ups: Eli Davidson & Rose Grisz 🥉 Age Group Bronze Medalist: Asa Davidson 5th place podiums: Hoss Foreman & Axel Grisz 🌟 Four athletes racing their first USA Triathlon Nationals ⚡ Zeke Davidson-Ferguson making his Youth Elite draft-legal debut Many personal bests. Whether our athletes stood on the podium or simply crossed their first national finish line, they all represented the same standard. Small team. Big standards. That’s the Raider mentality. #NorthshoreRaiders #USATriathlon #YouthTriathlon #usatri @usatrielite @usatriathlon @usatrichamps by @asadavidsonracing
