Vilken dag i Hälleforsnäs! Nu har över 700 personer sett utställningen Drömmar ur kolmörkret och idag var det fokus på barnen med speciella aktiviteter som att göra egna kolkritor. by @asalocknerjewellery

In preparation for the piece “Shadowcatchers” that will be shown at the exhibition “Drömmar ur Kolmörkret” opening on 15 August in Hällefornäs.

Thank you everyone who attented and organised the Shadow Catchers workshop yesterday. Big thank you to
Åsa Lockner @asalocknerjewellery and Hannah Stahle @hannastahleart for organising and Konstfrämjande Kraft @konstframjandetkraft for the invitation.

Thank you @frednyman.psd and @kristinakeyzer for documentation!

In “Shadow Catchers”, a group of people capture the shadows of existing and potentially threatened forests. They march through the forest with their shadow catchers in their attempt to catch the shadows in order to describe something for which there are no words and that they feel in the presence of a forest. Yet they are conscious of the fact that no matter how beautiful or fascinating these silhouettes may be, they remain merely shadows, impermanent, incomplete, fragile representations of the forest’s complexity and of humanity’s deep intertwining with it.

Shadow Catchers is inspired by Plato´s allegory of the cave:
Prisoners chained inside a cave since birth, facing a blank wall, unable to turn their heads. Behind them burns a fire, and between the fire and the prisoners runs a walkway where people carry objects, statues of animals, figures, tools. The fire throws the shadows of these objects onto the wall in front of the prisoners. Since shadows are all they’ve ever seen, the prisoners take them to be reality.

Hope to see you in August!

Jubilee at Konsthantverkarna with the opening yesterday. So pleased@that I could be part of this and that I managed to get there in person to hug some colleagues and say Than you! to @helena_sand_strom and @matildakastel for all your hard work making this come to life 🥳 by @asalocknerjewellery

How cool is this?!
So pleased to see my necklace from Smyckoteket at Rian being worn by the striking @madeleine_hatz. She got to it first when @nationalmuseumswe received a phenomenal gift from @ingerwastberg and the celebration attracted plenty of stylish people. None, however, were as colour-coordinated as this pro! by @asalocknerjewellery

@asalocknerjewellery The Crown Jewels series

Starting with traditional materials and forms, I push boundaries to uncover new expressions. How can silver, known for its durability, reveal its softer side? How can a simple ball chain transcend its role as a pre-fabricated element to become an integral part of the piece?

In Crown Jewels, agates are elevated, silk threads, sewn stones, and voids become stand-ins for classic “bling.” Even when the materials themselves aren’t conventionally precious, the necklaces exude grandeur and beauty.
This series challenges the notion of value, merging tradition with a contemporary aesthetic. It pays homage to the legacy of classic jewelry while inviting new interpretations.

✨ Wearable elegance, redefined, Crown Jewels since 2008.

These different shapes have now been moved around for quite some time. Yesterday they found each other and chemistry appeared. It normally takes me several attempts to achieve this and I work with multiple pieces at the same time. In that way I have enough ”loose ends” to try my ideas without having to start over when one idea falls over. by @asalocknerjewellery

At the same time as delivering the exhibition piece to @konsthantverkarna, I also filled up my stock with jewellery perfect for the upcoming celebration season.

I know there are a whole lot of young people out there who are just about to graduate after years of hard work and dedication in school. What could be a better memory of that achievement than something you can carry close to your body for years, maybe even a lifetime? ✨ by @asalocknerjewellery

Thinking about the title for this piece. It will be on view this autumn at Hallwylska in Stockholm, celebrating Konsthantverkarna’s 75th anniversary.

Until then, it will be kept in the freezer. Everything brought into Hallwylska is handled with extra care to ensure no pests or insects are introduced with the objects. by @asalocknerjewellery
