Be still. Be patient. Let nature come to you. 🌿

There is no need to chase every moment or search for something extraordinary. Sometimes, the magic is in sitting quietly, watching, and allowing nature to come to you. The longer we stay, the more we begin to see.

I love walking around places that inspire me, taking in my surroundings and noticing things from a different perspective. It’s interesting how familiar places can look completely different when you take the time to look a little closer. Often, it’s these everyday details, colours and textures that influence new ideas for my artwork. 120 photos later and this is what can happen! ✨😄💙✍🏼✨

Hi everyone! 😊 I hope you all had a wonderful summer as we now venture into the autumnal treats that await! 🍂

It’s such a joy to have my artwork alongside so many wonderful artists, makers and creators, each bringing their own unique perspective and creativity to this beautiful exhibition at @arteriawithgallery23 in Lancaster.

The theme of ‘Stay’ really resonates with me. My artwork is inspired by those quiet encounters with nature and wildlife that encourage you to stop, look a little closer and become completely absorbed in what you’re experiencing.

The exhibition is also about being present, taking a moment to pause and notice the details. To step away from the noise and distractions and reconnect with the natural world around you. Thank you again to the lovely customers and fabulous team at Arteria, to be part of this collection of designers, creators and makers has been a delight!

There’s still time to pop down to the shop and explore the exhibition and Stay awhile. Perhaps you’ll find something that makes you pause, look closer and simply enjoy the moment.

Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is pause. Stop walking. Stop scrolling. Stop rushing. Stop worrying and focus on being in the moment.

Stand still long enough to hear the wind move through the trees, to notice the birds singing and flying around you, small creatures scurrying along the pathway, the light shifting across the mountains, the world breathing around you. Nature doesn’t ask us to hurry, it asks us to listen.

And when you slow down enough, something beautiful happens… Nature comes to you.

The frog appears quietly in the garden. The rabbit nibbles on the grass around you. The moment finds you. There is peace waiting in the pause, give it a go and you’ll be surprised what might turn up! 🥾🐦‍⬛🌿

Happy Bank Holiday weekend everyone ☀️🍸💙
Here’s a little process reel to keep you entertained while you sip on your G&T in the sunshine!

I gave this the title ‘Over Bracken and Fell’ after standing one evening along the lonin watching a beautiful barn owl gliding softly across the sky, one of those quiet moments that brings me a lot of joy.

The original A1 framed artwork is available to purchase @purdonandco or if you’re local to the Penrith area, pop in and have a look in person! 💙 A4 Giclèe prints are also available and stocked at the beautiful @nestcumbria where you can find even more goodies to fill your home with! ✨🫶🏼🪺✨

Evening folks! 😊👋🏻 Fresh stock of prints have arrived!
@nestcumbria @purdonandco ✨🫶🏼✨

Incase you didn’t know, each Giclée print is hand-signed, printed on beautifully textured high quality card stock, and limited to just 30 per design. Made using 100% recyclable materials and hand-packaged by me in compostable bags, with a little thank you card and sealed with a recyclable sticker. ♻️ Protecting the environment is just as important to me as protecting the art itself. Thoughtful and sustainable, what’s not to love!

I spotted this beautiful little bundle of Lemon yellow feathers perched contently and enjoying the evening sunlight. ☀️ This bird is called a Yellowhammer, the male is particularly vibrant for his impressive golden dandelion hues. I actually didn’t know this until I did a bit of research but the Yellowhammer is sadly on the RSPB red list meaning a conservation concern in the UK, with a whopping population decline of over 60% since the 1960s. Many factors come into play with the Loss of winter seed sources (stubbles) and removal/thinning of hedgerows due to agricultural intensification and new build development.

Whenever I experience a moment like this in nature, I take a moment to express my gratitude by saying thank you. It’s my way of connecting with the natural world, observing, learning, and appreciating the wildlife around me. Even more meaningful to me is using my artwork as a way to share that appreciation and inspire others to learn as well 😊💙✍🏼

It’s finished! 😊✨✍🏼 I’m so excited to share and reveal that the bird I had been working on was a Grey Heron. This has definitely been one of my most ambitious drawings to date, measuring A1 in size and requiring thousands of line work to capture the intricate feather details. To make the piece as authentic as possible, I’ve woven in fauna typically found around ponds; grasses, sections of reeds, specs of soil and pond weed to further create a deeper connection between the bird and its natural environment.

It’s been an absolute joy to work on, and I’ve learned so much along the way, for instance, did you know that gray herons actually have specialised feathers in their wings that help them make nearly a silent flight? I’m grateful for the time spent on this piece and excited to continue pushing my boundaries with each new project. Let me know what you think in the comments below!✨😊💙✨

Happy Saturday! 😊 Thought I’d share a little sneak peek at what I’ve been working on lately ✨✍🏼✨

Here’s a clue… these beautiful birds are a familiar sight all across the UK, particularly near ponds, rivers and canals 🇬🇧

And a fun little fact I love: the scales on their legs are actually an ancient feature, passed down from their theropod dinosaur ancestors that have barely changed for millions of years 🦖🦕🌿

Any guesses what it might be? I’d love to hear what you think!😊👇🏼💙

Hi everyone! 😊👋🏻🌼 Today was rather productive so I’d thought I’d share with you all a little glimpse of the day!

Started the morning signing prints with a tea (my favourite kind of quiet, mindful start), then packaging each one up with care before heading down to the Nest at Rheged Centre to restock.

Got to meet the fabulous Ali and Amelie, and had some really lovely chats with customers too — those little moments of interaction honestly mean everything😊💙

This is also the perfect moment to mention that every giclée print is hand-signed, individually packaged by yours truly, sealed with a thank you card, and finished with a rather snazzy eco sticker (because details matter).

I’m always conscious about keeping things as sustainable as possible — from the original artwork, to working with local framers and printers, right through to using 100% recyclable packaging. Compostable sleeves, recycled backing board… what’s not to love? 🌿💚♻️

So in a nut shell, surround yourself with inspiration and create art that you can share with people, and doing it in a way that feels right is a good for soul! ✨😊✍🏼✨
