“RICH”

Rich in nutrients. Rich in taste. Rich in color & variation. Rich in gratitude for sustainability.

The ultra-wealthy began displaying ornate works of art as a declaration of status and immortality, often times displaying political opinions through the imagery of the artwork.

I was discussing my thoughts behind the “richness” I was creating and it was brought to my attention this perspective of “needing to be rich nowadays” to even afford whole organic ingredients let alone the ultra processed, covered in pesticides and preservatives junk we’re forced to eat.

It had a huge impact on me as I could recount the many times my mother and sister and I would fight for assistance with food. Weekly programs through school, food banks, churches, even panhandling in the hardest of times just to get a meal. These resources helped keep us alive and they continue to do so for our community and other families that just want to feel a little more richness in their bellies.

If you’re still with me reading this, I do want to sell this piece. It is available, and I want to use half of the proceeds to go towards getting healthy, RICH, nutritious food to my local community/food banks.

It was an honor to create this. It survived sitting for weeks at a time while I was preoccupied and then an insane rainstorm that caused a roof leak directly above it! It’s also an honor to have seen that so many of my friends thought it was cool lol. I feel like I put a little piece of my soul into this and then put it out for the world to see and that felt scarier than anything else I’ve ever posted on here. Thank you❤️

Materials I used : Thrifted Frame, Exacto Knife, scissors, Elmers glue & mod podge, LOTS of magazines, gold leaf, gold chain, lots of patience, lots of love

Art Reveal!✨

I am so happy with how this turned out. This is one of my first collages that I have planned and executed based off of an initial thought I had. It’s the second largest collage I’ve done and I have no idea how many hours I spent cutting and pasting 🤗

The title is “RICH”

I plan to share more details about the piece and my thoughts and process behind making it, but I would love to hear about anyone’s impressions of this and what the title vs the content seen could potentially mean to them.

Thank you for watching and checking out my art. ❤️

Throwback to when I was allowed to live-collage at First Friday downtown for @budsglassjointaz ✨

This was such a cool experience, and to say thank you and congratulations on 10 years, I dedicated making the collage for buds as a gift 💝

My 2 passions combined ❤️🎨🛼

Before I found rollerskating, I have always had creativity! Making art has been my top hobby for as long as I can remember!

I think it’s so cool to remember that I can just go get supplies and then work on this huge project for months. I can’t tell you when I started or stopped because I didn’t keep track of time. I can tell you that there are ✨approximately✨ 4,514 little gemstones glued onto this collage (I tried to keep count the best that I could😅) and then I sealed it all up with resin. I wanted a cool frame, so several goodwill trips later I ended up with this beauty who was no match for my purple spray paint.

I - am super proud of this! Super proud of me! I’m thankful for my abilities and my passions that allow me to tap into parts of myself I didn’t know existed. 😁
