A few of the tiniest findings and beings that we are able to experience when we slow down and move at the pace of the children. by @ashleykarell
I feel so thankful for every opportunity to share, to be learning, to listen and connecting with fellow music lovers. Next Friday at @melokavabar, I’ll be sharing 4 hours of the sweetest songs I know. From my home and heart to yours. Bring yourself and a friend. We can all settle into the music and listen together. by @ashleykarell
The sun has been shining and we are embracing the shift in seasons. We’re welcoming families who would like to spend some time outside to learn about Nature Time Oakland and our current offerings. We love meeting new families and your children. We’re also looking forward to reconnecting with former campers and students. We have more information regarding forest school enrollment, camps, and how to connect with us on our new website naturetimeoakland.org by @ashleykarell

Yesterday, today, tomorrow and hopefully in my next lifetime by @ashleykarell
We appreciate everyone who has shared their support for our school and for the children. Our small little community has moved through the winter season peacefully, meeting the coldest days with movement, beautiful songs, and campfires to warm body and spirit. Our knowledge of native plants and birds continues to grow, as does our trust in the landscape and trails. On our daily walks, the children know where they are. They notice new green life emerging around them, blossoming each day, and they move forward with confidence, aware of their surroundings, each other, and the direction they are going. by @ashleykarell
Reflecting on the past year of learning, teaching and growing with our youth. So many beautiful moments of connection with over 90 young people this year! From 5 months old to 17 years old. I've been thinking about teaching as an ongoing creative practice, rooting myself in daily observation and response to the present moment. Trying to make meaning of the present moment alongside the children. Moving between learning and teaching, holding what is known and unknown at any given time. Exploring the unknown together. Finding the answers together. Finding simplicity, beauty, deep listening and deep rest. I know that every person can say that their work feels most important. I can say that I feel so honored and tremendous sense of responsibility to be trusted in loving and protecting our babies. by @ashleykarell
Music is a love practice that I hold daily, within heart and home. Sharing new songs, or memory songs from our upbringing with loved ones, carries such special feelings. Sonic love letters. I feel honored to be providing hours of rhythm to uplift the spirit, create a little soundscape for great conversation, and complement the community vibes of @melokavabar. 8pm! You have the freedom to dance a little bit too! by @ashleykarell
