Got in a 5k with my girl this morning pushing her stroller with her is about 50 lbs and it was hilly 🥵

But she was a good little mile buddy. Even made a finish line for me 😍 Then I coached her to the car. “3, 2, 1 push!” That’s what happens when your Momma is an Orangetheory coach 😉 and yes, she was just about as enthusiastic as you all are 😂 by @otheorymadison

Did she want to wear her Elsa dress this morning? Yes. Did she want to help put it on? Yes. Is it on backwards? Also yes. 🤣🤣🤣

But she was so proud of herself and threw a fit when I tried to swap it around so I let her walk like this into Orangetheory. At 2 she can get away with it, she’s cute regardless ❄️👑 by @otheorymadison

Today I set a new personal record for my 10k time by 10 minutes during my 7 mile long run!! And yes I totally ran in my Star Wars ears the whole time. The force was with me. Literally. #dopeytraining

But I did something I hadn’t really done before. After today’s church service I realized without meaning to, I keep my faith life out of my running. So I gave my run to God before I started and as each interval and mile passed, I prayed out loud. Jesus this is not for my glory. But yours. Give me the endurance step by step. Help me to show others through movement how their lives can change for the better. Be with me. Not by my own strength. But by yours. Let this run and this challenge I am training for have purpose beyond just finishing. Continue to use me in my professional life of fitness to serve others well. And seriously that was one of the best runs I have had in a loooong time 🙏🏻 by @otheorymadison

ADDISON IS TWO-EY!! 🎉

We started Birthday celebrations yesterday and have continued today. The decorations, the cake, the gifts are all fabulous of course, but the love and joy she is experiencing from everyone making a big deal about her has been so fun to watch 🥹

She gets SO excited! Lights up at the smallest things even. And while she may not quite understand what today really means…she is fully aware it’s about her. Which was my goal. My parents always made birthdays feel special for me growing up and without a doubt, her 2nd birthday has been 🧡🧡 by @otheorymadison

Her birthday is coming.
And my body still remembers.
I will celebrate her with everything I have—
while quietly holding everything I survived…

Birth trauma is wild. You are simultaneously baking a cake and wrapping presents while your nervous system is like hey, “remember this was the day you almost died.”

I think for me, what I found what worked last year is that it is OK to hold both versions of what this day means. I can make a big deal out of her birthday because it was truly one of the best days of our lives. And also create space for myself (either a different time that same day or leading up to it) to honor my own experience around this day being also one of the worst days of my life.

I’m approaching this week with a lot of emotions. Excitement. Anticipation. Joy. Gratitude. But also Grief. Sadness. Anger. So I’m just giving myself a lot of grace. Her turning 2 is a BIG DEAL. And I thank God that I’m still here and able to be her Mom 🙏🏻 by @otheorymadison

One of my favorite things lately is seeing Chris as a Disney Dad. Addison is into all things Disney these days. Mickey & Minnie Mouse. Bluey. The Princesses. You name it. She loves the music. The characters. The stories. And the magic of it all 😍

And to see Chris sing along to the movies (which he knows the lyrics by heart) and want to share that with her- that brings me so much joy. Of course I love sharing my childhood traditions and memories with her as well, but it’s another level seeing the man you married light up right alongside your child ✨ by @otheorymadison

Someone has their first ear infection 😔

So thankful her teacher yesterday noticed she was tugging on her ears and said something to me. She had a rough night last night from the pain so I got her in to her doctor this morning. She’s miserable 😭 this calls for a Disney movie day with Momma 😍 by @otheorymadison

Hubby appreciation post 😍

One of my friends is about to get married and I remember telling her a few months ago, you know it’s your person not just when you imagine the highlights of life, but when they’re the ones that when life just smacks you upside the head, you couldn’t imagine getting through any of it without them…

In both these photos. Chris was there- not just holding my hand, but hers 🥹 Whether it was our 2nd time checking out of the hospital after she was born or days like today- walking out of a hotel after our house was struck by lightning a few days ago 🙃 You never know what’s going to happen…but I do know this guy takes care of, loves and protects our family in every single way he can 💜 by @otheorymadison
