It takes a certain kind of person to run for public office. Long days, late nights, endless meetings, community events, phone calls, emails, and occasionally having complete strangers tell you exactly what they think about you.

But what I've learned is that it takes an even more special kind of family to support someone who chooses this path.

Through every campaign event, every weekend away from home, every conversation about policy over dinner, and every moment of uncertainty, my family has been my foundation. They have sacrificed time, shared me with the community, offered encouragement when I needed it most, and reminded me what truly matters.

To my amazing wife, Esperanza K. Tervalon , and to our boys—thank you for your patience, your love, your laughter, and your unwavering support. No matter what happens during a campaign season, I get to come home to the people I love most, and that is the greatest blessing of all.

I am grateful, honored, and incredibly lucky to walk through this journey with you—not just during election season, but every single day.

I'm grateful for the endorsement of my Metro colleague Juan Carlos González.

He represents Washington County and parts of west Portland with integrity and purpose. Now he's running for Metro President to bring that leadership to the entire region.

In East County, we know that the challenges we face with displacement and underinvestment are not unique to our district. Councilor González understands that a rising tide must lift every corner of the metro area.

I will continue working alongside him to ensure Metro investments reach working families across every district. by @ekt_510
