❤️ WHO AM I? ❤️

My name is Ashton Patterson, and I am an Actor/Playwright based in Richmond, Virginia!

I began doing "professional" shows in 2022, in A Midsummer Nights Dream with @brokenlegtheater! Since then, I have fallen so in love with the arts.

I have been in a plethora of smaller shows, including a fundraiser show me and my mother directed! (@thathstheatertroupe) Though, this (school) year has been extra busy for me! And I hope it stays that way!

🍷 HADESTOWN: TEEN EDITION 🌹

This show was SO FUN!!!!!

I have never had as much of a blast in a musical until this show. Now, I'm gonna be honest, I didn't think I'd enjoy this show much, but I was so wrong.
This cast was all I could ask for and more.

And, on top of all of that, I got to understudy Hermes! I don't have any photos of my run, but our AMAZING principle Hermes (played by Jocelyn Enis) is shown in these photos! by @ashtonfpatterson

💙 ROMEO AND JULIET 💙

I performed in @henricohsdramaclub 's production of ROMEO AND JULIET as Friar Lawrence! (Laurence? I was never quite sure.)

Oh. My. God. This was so cool! First off, getting to do a full shakespeare show with some of my best friends? AMAZING. I never truly understood Friar Lawrence's purpose in the show until I truly had to analyze him as a character, and I'm glad I did now! And, don't even get me STARTED on the costumes! Truly, one of my FAVORITE shows to date!

(I would add the song "Sk8er Boi" by Avril Lavigne over this, but the music in the background of the clips is too good to not have them play!) by @ashtonfpatterson

🖤 BARDATHON 2025 🖤

I performed at Bardathon with @richmondshakespeare !

I got the PRIVILEGE of playing Banquo & representing my school in MACBETH!! 💀 SO COOL! The other schools had such fantastic performances as well, and some very original setting ideas! by @ashtonfpatterson

💛 LAFEYETTE NO. 1 💛
(Theatre Level 2, Spring Showcase Piece)

I had the HONOR of playing Ms. Margaret Haughery, A.K.A. The Bread Lady!! 🍞🍞

Playing the bread lady was SO fun, truly. I got to experiment with many different emotions, experience new situations, and see my friends shine.. All in the span of one act! Truly a FANTASTIC cast, and I definitely will not forget this.

Now, onto Musical Theatre Spring Showcase! by @ashtonfpatterson

Ashton's performances of 2024! (Excluding Fall Showcase @ the CFA & the fundraiser variety show with @thathstheatertroupe, as well as shows I did backstage stuff for.)

Christmas Carol (Photos 1-7) - Performed with @henricohsdramaclub
Doctor Faustus (Photos 8-13) - Performed with @richmondshakespeare

Two incredible experiences!

In Christmas Carol, I got the chance to play the jolly & whimsical Mr. Fezziwig! It was nice to step out of my comfort zone a tiny bit, and play a character that is not similar to my personality. I actually found it quite freeing, to be honest. I had found myself really enjoying him as a character while reading the script and auditions, and doubting I'd end up next to his box on the cast list, but, lo and behold, there I was!

In Doctor Faustus, I played the Cardinal of Padua & the Duke's servant. I had been wanting to be in a mainstage production with Richmond Shakes for YEARS, and I'm so glad it was with that cast. I came out of that show with a new favorite play, and a new found appreciation for everything that goes into making theatre as beautiful as it is.

All in all, this was a year full of being a part of and seeing incredible shows. I enjoy every single person I performed with so much, and they were always so helpful and supporting, especially the Faustus cast. (I mean, it was me and one other teenager, and then a bunch of incredibly talented and experienced performers.. It was a bit intimidating.)

Here's to 2025's season of fun being just as good, if not better! :D by @ashtonfpatterson
