🌌 One of my happiest moments in my career so far was leading the Space Gala Scholarship program this year.

I spent weekends and nights creating an application and read through 70+ applications to select the '24 Scholars with the help of my fellow steering committee members.

☄️ These students are going places, and it gave me so much joy to help them feel inspired and get started in their STEM careers by recognizing them at the Space Gala this year.

For those who aren't familiar, the Gala celebrates women in STEM and raises money for @reinventedmagazine 's outreach work.

✨ I want to put humans on Mars, but I know we can't do it alone!

(This scholarship is also for students in all STEM fields, not just aerospace!)

🪐 My career has been quite the adventure, and it's just getting started.

🩷 Finally took the time to share what weighs on me during this long adventure. I love posting the beauty & highlights of life, but it hasn't felt right to leave out the sad/hard parts.

If you're chasing career goals in space, it's normal for it to be a bumpy road. Don't feel like mistakes, sad days, all that mean you aren't meant to make it. I've dealt with that my whole life, I just refuse to give up because I love challenges and working towards the big moments where I get to see that I helped make something cool :).

🎃 October was kinda spooky. by @astro.madison

🍂 I felt like singing Green Day's Wake Me Up When September Ends all month. The successes were huge, I presented at SOLAR spacecraft CDR, learned a lot in school, etc.

But I also very suddenly lost someone who I'd been working with almost every day, got sick twice, and had to fight tooth and nail to stay caught up on homework.

That was my September <3.

🪐 Happy World Space Week, everyone! This week I'd like to share some of the biggest things that inspired my passion for space.

🌌 @novapbs was a constant in my childhood, always showing me incredible things about the universe.

🔭 @chabotspace is my childhood space/science museum that let me take a close-up look at space & space exploration. It's still a very nostalgic place for me. I honestly even remember how it smells (in a good way haha).

📺 Although I only ever found a way to watch EP1 of Carl Sagan's Cosmos, its intense sense of curiosity was infectious. I'll admit I still need to watch the rest of the series.

I love exploration, discovery, and big challenges. Space has all of that and more.

🌆 I was recently invited to an engineering leadership dinner by an IT tech company called Nerdio, and while I had a great time and hospitality was wonderful, I was caught off guard by the invitation.

My invite email said that someone had recommended they invite me to one of these dinners where people network with other people in tech, but I don't know who and was surprised to be invited to something that's normally for executives.

This seafood restaurant was massive and full of very well dressed people, divided into many different dining rooms of different sizes. It's not the first setting I've felt intimidated by, but the feeling of being out of my depth or out of place was still there.

Thankfully the people were very friendly, I got to learn about the Telecom industry, and traded many good local restaurant recommendations with my table. by @astro.madison

She needs a nap & more than 24hrs in a day. Browned butter chocolate chip cookies from @bakewithzoha kept me going, though.

I just learned how to crochet and my beanie turned out so comfortable. Let me know if you want the pattern.

🫶🏼 Working on huge goals like pursuing a career in space takes a lot out of you. I still often forget to really breathe, so I want to remind all of us to take some quiet moments when we can while working on our dreams.

On the 60th Anniversary of Star Trek, Chabot College wants to feature one of our alumni who is a real-life space systems engineer, @astro.madison. Madison started her college journey as an engineering student at Chabot College and is now a systems engineer working on a spacecraft that will serve as earth’s warning system for solar storms. She is an advocate for a human future in space! #ChabotCollege #StarTrek #Space #NASA #alumni by @astro.madison

🌄 Quick recap on the last few months. I saw the incredible Artemis II crew, started my second semester of my master's degree, and helped our intern wrap up her summer.

🫶🏼 Extremely lucky to have this life. Thank you for following along.
