Very little natural lighting — so we thought: let’s do something bold in here. 🍷 We took the space and dipped absolutely everything in this rich burgundy tone (too much wine for somebody?!). From doors to metal elements, ceilings to the floor — everything within these few square meters is covered in color & we definitely had fun designing it.

Welcome to this beautiful project in the heart of Karlin, where @viki.ortner, @andreasortnerstudio and their son Mathis infuse their well-traveled, sophisticated style with a family-oriented focus. Their Prague home combines the best elements from their favorite places, blending Parisian elegance with a Nordic twist. The space features aesthetically pleasing furniture, elegant architecture, and cozy nooks. The mix of warm bouclé, dark wood, colder marble, chrome elements, and rough plaster creates a beautiful synthesis and balance of styles and textures. Collaborating with Andreas and Viki has been truly inspiring, adding a unique personal touch to this beautiful home. Explore this latest reconstruction that beckons us to move in immediately. 🤍

Special thanks to @designville.cz for the support and delivery of the coziest Nordic furniture pieces (check out @designville.eu - they just launched their EU website with delivery all over Europe).
@romein.conceptstore for the charming wooden stools, breathtaking vases, and impeccable customer service.
Gratitude to @prvni.keramicka for bringing our travertine table vision to life! And a big thanks to @dorint_cz for their support in the bathroom division - the Italian faucet manufacturer Gessi stole our hearts at first sight!

Zeynep Sagir, colour consultant and designer, reads 2027 through a lens of measured restraint. Her eight colours favour depth over brightness, material honesty over excess, and quiet optimism over spectacle. These hues ground, open, and soften space, giving people and materials room to breathe while still instilling confidence, warmth and character.

Calming Wine – HEX 64313E

Deep, muted colours are redefining what boldness looks like. Rather than relying on brightness or high saturation, this hue creates impact through depth and richness, sitting comfortably within minimalist compositions. It evokes confidence, intimacy and quiet intensity without overwhelming the surrounding palette. The shift is visible across interiors, fashion, furniture and product design, where restrained colour is replacing louder forms of expression. Once reserved for dramatic accents, it is now used expansively as a primary surface, proving that boldness can be calm and deliberate. As palettes move away from extremes, colours with depth will gain wider relevance, offering warmth, contrast and character.

Pine Gold – HEX F4DD40

This colour reflects a broader shift towards material authenticity, tactile surfaces and a quieter visual language. Growing interest in natural finishes and minimally processed materials has made it increasingly relevant, conveying warmth, optimism and seasonal renewal without visual excess. It is appearing across interiors, ceramics, textiles, fashion and object design, particularly in practices that value craftsmanship, sustainability and natural pigments. Because related hues can be achieved with many naturally derived colourants, it feels accessible and grounded in material culture. Already established in creative communities, its commercial potential continues to grow with demand for emotionally reassuring spaces, biobased materials and quietly optimistic everyday products.

BOMMA Atelier, refreshed ✨
Inside the Cubist Diamant House in Prague, the apartment’s original 1930s interior is remarkably complete. We didn’t want to change it, and we couldn’t. Instead, we asked how someone today would want to live here.
We softened the colours and kept our signature burgundy for the rooms meant for conversation. We traded patterns for rich, textured fabrics you want to touch. The library became a story of how each BOMMA light is made, with books, glass and fragments from the glassworks side by side.
The one room we could truly transform became the Dark Room, a small universe for the new Ollo collection.
Some of the lights are hiding in unexpected places. We won’t tell you where, you’ll have to find them yourself!

Thank you for this opportunity, @bomma_cz and @vaclav_mlynar

Doplňují je díla Josefa Bolfa, Jakuba Špaňhela, Moniky Martykánové, Domiky Petrálové, Elis Monsport, Lukáše Nováka, Iry Svobodové, Kateřiny Šťastné, Matouše Háši, Pavlíny Kvity a Jakuba Matušky.

Instalaci najdete v Jízdárně Pražského hradu do neděle 11.10.

ART INSTEAD OF ORDINARY OBJECTS

What does a collector’s home of our generation look like?

For @designblok_prague, we created an imaginary home together with @kc.editions around the idea that collecting doesn’t have to mean creating a separate place for art. Quite the opposite - perhaps the most interesting part is letting it become part of everyday life.

We played with the idea of art taking the place of ordinary objects, blurring the line between what is meant to be looked at and what is meant to be lived with.

You might find your favourite sculpture by @monikamartykan in the cupboard instead of your stack of clothes or a @josef_bolf piece hanging next to your nightgown.

We really wanted to explore the idea where art isn’t just displayed but it’s a part of the collectors unique story.

Specials thanks to all of our partners who helped us bringing the apartment to life @m2osro @prvni.keramicka @designpropaganda.cz @marieli_cz @ravak.cz @tilendo.cz

🤍 @lenka_bajerova

& even bigger thanks to all clients and friends who came to celebrate with us yesterday.

Come have a look at The Collectors Apartment at Jízdárna Pražského hradu, as part of High Craft / Designblok, until October 11.

Návštěvníci si budou moci vybrané výrobky personalizovat a díky brousicímu stroji si sami vyzkoušet ruční broušení skla.
