This Thursday, October 1, 2026! Six-time Grammy Award winner Dionne Warwick makes a special appearance at the Oxford Performing Arts Center in nearby Oxford, AL, backed by her band and the Atlanta Pops Orchestra String Ensemble, conducted by Andre Chez Lewis. Through a unique blend of American pop, soul, and rhythm & blues, Dionne Warwick has achieved international acclaim in her decades-long music career, selling over 100 million albums worldwide, and charting more than 60 hit recordings, including "Walk On By," "Alfie," "Do You Know the Way to San Jose," and "I Know I'll Never Love This Way Again." Building upon her success in the early 1960s with songwriters Burt Bacharach and Hal David, Dionne Warwick continued to release chart-topping recordings, including 12 top ten singles and two number one singles, collaborating with Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Gladys Knight, Barry Manilow, and many more. This is a show you don't want to miss! Presented as part of the Bernardi Pops Series, this event is funded in part by a grant from South Arts in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts. We're still thinking about Jon Batiste's incredible performance with the Atlanta Pops Orchestra last weekend! Nights like this are a reminder of why we love live music. 🎶✨ 📸 : @kaylin_not_slaughter_2.0 by @atlantapopsorchestra
Thank you, Jon Batiste! And thank you, Atlanta! We're still soaring above the clouds in the warmth and joy of the memories of our performance with Jon Batiste at Chastain Park on Sunday. Seamlessly weaving through a beautiful, sonic tapestry of his own pop hits and symphonic compositions, Jon masterfully blended in melodies, motifs, lyrics and rhythms from Thelonious Monk and Mozart, Beethoven and William DeVaughn, Hoagy Carmichael and Tupac, and many more throughout the night. Thank you to conductor Jonathan Taylor Rush, drummer Joe Saylor, singer DeSz, bassist Russell Hall, and everyone working behind the scenes: Live Nation, ASO Production, Music Matters, Avatar Events Group, and the staff at Synovus Bank Amphitheater at Chastain Park. And, of course, we extend our gratitude to everyone that came out to the show!
