Scoring is easy to teach.
Making the extra pass takes trust.
This month, they learned it. 🏀

episode 2
the colors of atlas hoops:
ube nights

been wanting to share my “why”
but that’s left things pending for a min

inspired by books and cartoons i’ve read my kids

@dr_julianpenaranda

ps. if you’ve made it this far
and you were wondering.
I am double fisting two bobas
while watching a reflection

y’all ever build something?
like really build something?

day one,
the odds were against me.

day 1928,
they still are.

and honestly?
I chose that.

self-funded from the start.
no investors. no safety net.
burned more times than I can count.

I scar. I heal.
I keep going.

no big following.
no club team.
no AAU program feeding me players.

I know what I bring.
at every level.

the detail.
the skill set.
the standard.

I overthink.
I ask questions.
and I push everyone around me to think it all the way through.

not to make it complicated.
not to make shit hard.
but because I’ve found every seam
and I’ve stitched every one of them back up myself.

I know my flaws.
I’m not hiding from them.

I’m working on them.
same as I worked on this gym.

and I’m fortunate that I’ve experienced all of this,
and thankful to share this part of my journey.

against the odds.
