3 years ago today, we opened the doors of Atlas Pet Vets with one simple promise: to provide the highest standard of compassionate, forward-thinking care for your furry (and scaled or feathered!) family members. 🐾💛

What a ride these past three years have been. Because of the trust this incredible community has placed in us, we’ve been able to grow in ways we only dreamed of when we first unlocked the clinic doors.

A few things that made year three especially close to our hearts:

✨ Our growing team: We welcomed new talent and expanded our practice to 4 amazing doctors, allowing us to be there for more routine checkups, complex cases, and everything in between.
✨ Giving back where it matters most: This year, we officially launched the Atlas Pet Vets Medical Rescue Fund, dedicated to providing lifesaving, advanced medical and surgical care to shelter pets who need a second chance at life.

To every pet parent who has walked through our lobby, trusted us in tough moments, and celebrated healthy milestones with us: thank you. You are the heart of APV.

Here’s to many more years of wagging tails, purrs, and healthy pets! 🥂🐕🐈

Drop a photo of your pet in the comments so we can celebrate with our favorite patients today! 👇 by @atlaspetvets

Atlas Pet Vets is coming to a city near you! 🐾

This Saturday, we’ll be in McKinney, TX, as proud sponsors of the One Million Steps for OCD Walk! 💙

Stop by our table to learn more about our Medical Rescue Fund, which helps at-risk animals in shelters and rescues. Spoiler alert: Some of our cutest patients will be there to greet you! 🐶🐱

Then on Monday, we’re heading to Stillwater, OK, where Dr. Lauren Anthony will be speaking at Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She’ll share her experience building and owning Atlas Pet Vets with veterinary students and offer practical considerations for evaluating their future career options.

We’re excited to connect with our communities and support the next generation of veterinary professionals! 🩺🐾

Thinking about Lava—look how picture-perfect she is! Who can resist that face? She's ready for her close-up, and even more ready to leave the hospital.

Lava Cake is ready for a foster home! 🏡

After weeks of surgery and recovery with our team, this sweet girl is ready to trade hospital life for lazy mornings and a comfy couch. She's a champion snuggler, gives the best hugs, and will happily claim your bed as her own.

Our ideal foster for Lava:
🐾 Lives near Frisco (or can travel) to bring her to her planned follow-up visits at Atlas Pet Vets
🐾 Can let her be the only pet, or has a compatible, similar-sized dog (no cats or small dogs)

Our team will continue managing her medical care.

If you can open your home to Lava, please reach out via comments or message us at medicalrescue@atlaspetvets.com. 💚

Our vet techs do it all. On any given day at Atlas Pet Vets, you’ll find them:
🐶 Guiding patients through underwater treadmill therapy
🐰 Gently caring for our exotic patients
🩺 Supporting our surgery team
🔬 Helping with diagnostics and lab work
🚑 Caring for patients during urgent care visits

And they help make every visit as low-stress as possible as part of our Fear Free certified practice.

Thank you to our amazing vet tech team for the skill, patience and heart you bring to our patients, their families and our Frisco community!

Lava Cake update! 🐾

Since arriving at Atlas Pet Vets, Lava has been through a lot and has come a long way. Our team removed her bladder stones, completed her spay, performed airway surgery, including work on her palate to help her breathe more comfortably, and removed infected teeth.

Her care isn’t finished yet. In the future, we hope to use CT imaging and 3D surgical planning to explore options for correcting her limb deformities. All to keep her comfortable and provide her with the best possible quality of life.

Now there’s one more thing Lava needs: a loving foster home where she can continue her recovery.

If you can open your heart and home to Lava, please reach out via comments or message us at medicalrescue@atlaspetvets.com. 💚

For the last decade, my husband and I have pushed ourselves relentlessly to learn, train, and become better veterinarians. Less than three years after vet school, we had what felt like a crazy idea:

What if we built our own practice?

Not just another vet hospital, but a place where advanced medicine could exist within general practice, and where every animal, no matter how complicated, could have a chance.

That dream became Atlas Pet Vets.

Then came the Atlas Pet Vets Medical Rescue Fund, because we knew there were shelter animals who needed advanced care but had no one to advocate for them.

And then came Clara. ❤️

Clara was a puppy in a shelter at with a life-threatening congenital condition called a persistent right aortic arch. She couldn’t properly swallow food, was severely malnourished, and was repeatedly aspirating. Without surgery, she likely wouldn’t survive.

She needed open-chest surgery — a procedure we were told no other vet in Dallas-Ft. Worth, not even a specialist, would perform.

But Clara deserved a chance.

So we prepared, consulted with colleagues, studied the procedure, built a careful surgical and anesthesia plan, and trusted our extraordinary Atlas team.

We entered her chest, millimeters from her beating heart, identified the vessel strangling her esophagus, carefully ligated and transected it, and closed her chest.

Within hours, Clara was standing.

Then she ate.

And for the first time, all her food reached her stomach.

That moment was everything.

Clara’s survival wasn’t because of one or two people. It happened because an entire community decided her life was worth fighting for.

We are endlessly grateful to our incredible Atlas Pet Vets team, the Montgomery County Animal Shelter team, the veterinarians and technicians at @veg in Frisco who cared for Clara through recovery, and every person who has donated to the Atlas Pet Vets Medical Rescue Fund.

Your generosity allows us to say yes when an animal needs us most.

Clara’s story belongs to all of you. ❤️

October is here, and Toddy is ready for colorful leaves, pumpkins, and crisp fall walks! 🍂🎃

What’s your pet’s favorite part of fall?

#FallPets #AtlasPetVets by @atlaspetvets

Look at Lava just 24 hours after surgery! She’s already outside walking and looking bright. 🐾

During one surgery, Lava had bladder stones removed, was spayed, had procedures to help her breathe more comfortably, including work on her palate, and had 10 infected teeth removed. Bringing that care together took careful planning, advanced surgical skills, and close attention to her safety throughout anesthesia.

Lava is breathing better and recovering from conditions that had caused her pain. She’ll need more care once she’s healed, but seeing her up and moving means so much.

Thank you to everyone supporting Lava and the Medical Rescue Fund. If you’d like to help with her continued care, donate or support here: https://atlaspetvets.com/medicalrescue/ by @atlaspetvets
