3 thing you should know about being a hairstylist: 1. Real friends respect your prices and don’t ask for discounts! Even when my prices were already super low, some friends didn't hold up my business or like my polices / rates. You might lose a friend or two but that’s not real support; that’s just them taking advantage. Do everything for you, do it for your business and you'll see that the real ones stick around. 2. Always practice and stay updated on trends! I can’t emphasize this enough! Consistent practice is key—on days I'm not braiding clients’ hair, I work on a mannequin to sharpen my skills. Have a friend who is willing to be your practice for new styles also!! Stay active on social media to see what’s trending and what people are asking for! 3. Know your worth and charge accordingly. This was a tough lesson for me, and honestly, I still feel like I undercharge sometimes. People can always tell when you’re only in it for the money. But don’t be afraid to set fair prices—just don’t overdo it! - March Bookings open in 5 days ! #dmvknotlessbraids #hairstylist #dmvhairstylist #bookwithme #explorepage #dmvsoftlocs #blackowned #cute #fulani #maryland #salecomingsoon #atouchofaba by @atouchofaba
