The December Scarf comes in three sizes because sometimes you want a cute little neck scarf, and sometimes you want to wrap yourself up like you’re emotionally unavailable until spring. 🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️

Small is designed to wrap once.
Medium wraps twice.
Large wraps three times.

Same clever, one piece construction, same bandana-shaped bib, very different finished look depending on how much scarf you fancy dealing with.

And if none of those are quite right? You can knit the bib to the depth you want and use the free Set-up Row Calculator on the website to work out your shaping from there.

The pattern is written for Aran/Worsted, but it’s also very easy to adapt for different yarn weights, which is exactly why I ended up making chunky and 4-ply versions too.

December Scarf is available now, 🔗 in B I O 🤍

How are you wearing your Huddle Hood? If you haven’t knitted this up yet, it’s 20% through today (20/9) on the W!

It might still be warm out but I cannot bear having a cold neck! I’ve got another Huddle Hood on my needles right now in light chunky, can’t wait to show you!

Happy Sunday loves 🥰

Your yarn scraps 🤝 the Forest Echo Beanie 🍂

Safely in the hands of testers, and we’re trying a totally different testing process! Not without its teething problems but I think it’s here to stay! I’m always looking at ways to improve the way I work and I’ve got much to do right now so any hinging that makes life easier…I’m here for it! Thank you to my testers for being guinea pigs!

This is Version 2 of the pattern, but I thought I’d try it with two contrast colours to get through some of the many partial skeins I’ve got 🙈 I think it’s going to be a keeper!

We’ve got a busy weekend ahead so sneaking in a few early rounds before I have to get my bum in gear!

There’s been a lot about dyeing yarn that’s truly humbled me, but turns out cable ties are the greatest 🙃

If you’re a knitter or crocheter, or if you love a knitter or crocheter, don’t miss out on my 30% off sale!

Perfect gifts or a wee treat for yourself! It ends 11th of November but things are selling out FAST!

I also feel like this audio perfectly sums me up 😂 I’ve just got back from more tests at the Drs and I’m now going to spend the next 3 hours dyeing 4 skeins of yarn 😂😂

Ad | Apparently I have to turn this gorgeous yarn into something instead of just squishing it 🤷🏼‍♀️

This is Espiral from @araucaniayarns , 100% merino, chunky weight, and those COLOURS! Every time I turn a skein around I find another combination to get distracted by!

You get 120 metres in each lovely big 150g skein, which is fabulous for some bigger projects as well as all your accessories!

I’m working with @knittingfever , the family-owned company distributing this yarn exclusively through local yarn shops. So if this has caught your eye, have a look at their stockist finder or ask your favourite yarn shop about Espiral 🧶

Of course I already have a new pattern in mind 👀 which colour would you cast on first?

🚨 ETSY’S NEW AI TERMS CAN GET IN THE BIN & YOU CAN GET 30% OFF NOTIONS 😂

Like everyone else, I’ve been reading Etsy’s updated terms, coming into effect in December, and I’m really not happy about allowing Etsy and its partners to use the content we upload to train and develop AI.

My photos, my words, the work I put into presenting my business, I do that to sell my actual products. Not to help train a machine to churn out more stuff that competes with the people doing the work in the first place.

For a platform built on the creativity of independent makers, that feels like a massive
p!ss take. I want to support actual designers, artists, photographers and makers. People with skills they’ve spent years learning, who deserve to have a say in how their work is used.

So I’ll be moving more of my business over to my own website, audaciousewe.co.uk. Patterns, a smaller selection of notions, finished knitwear and, very soon, my own hand-dyed yarn 🧶

Which brings me to the frankly ridiculous number of stitch markers and stoppers currently occupying my house 😂 There are over 200 notions listings on my Etsy, and I won’t be bringing every design across.

✨ 30% OFF SELECTED NOTIONS FOR ONE WEEK ✨

🎄 INCLUDING CHRISTMAS NOTIONS!

Little gifts for your knitting pals, stocking fillers, or another pair of stoppers because yours have disappeared down the sofa again.

You get a bargain, I get some space, and moving everything becomes slightly less of a logistical shitshow. Everybody wins 😂

Eek! I cannot tell you how delightful knitting these gorgeous Christmas stockings was! 🎄

This pattern from Abi @fromdevonwithloveuk is now LIVE on Ravelry, and there’s plenty of time to get one made for all the family before the big man comes down your chimney, it’s a super quick make!

Abi has also released two fab festive sock patterns today, one of which I’ve had my eye on!

Head to Abi’s page, or the 🔗 in my story to check them out!

Just knitting one of my favourite beanies with a folded, contrast brim!

I’ve included this technique in some of my patterns, it’s really personal preference, but I do prefer the right side of the cast on to be visible as opposed to the wrong side!

Have you used this technique?

I mean, it’s getting a bit embarrassing now, isn’t it? 😬

If you know, you know. And if you don’t, consider yourself very lucky, because honestly, the whole thing is so spectacularly unhinged that I wouldn’t even know where to begin.

Imagine having so little going on in your own life that you find the time to keep tabs on someone else’s, scrutinise their work and seemingly make it your entire personality to try and belittle them. At what point does it become more concerning than annoying?

Anyway, thank you for all the lovely messages and support. Honestly, I’m fine. ❤️

November is going to be a pretty intense month here, with a whole load of medical appointments, my daughter having an operation and one of the dogs needing surgery too. So, as you can imagine, I’ve got rather more important things to think about than the latest episode of this nonsense.

I can’t imagine how exhausting it must be to spend so much time consumed by bitterness and resentment. What a miserable way to spend your days, constantly looking at what someone else is doing instead of enjoying what you have.

And I know how lucky I am. I have an amazing partner, wonderful friends, a family I adore and a business I’m bloody proud of. My life is far from perfect, and some days are harder than others, but it’s full of people and things I love.

I think that’s why, at some point, the anger gives way to something closer to pity. Because whatever is driving this behaviour, it must be exhausting to carry around that much negativity.

Anyway, I’m off to knit another hat.

Happy Halloween to those who celebrate! 🎃🫶🏻 by @audacious.ewe
