For several months we’ve been working tirelessly to solve a problem.

How do we get PLA focused training and education to those who need it the most?

We found the answer.

Free Mobile Training Teams with POIs built around actual training and readiness standards.

Relevant to the warfighter, delivered in a manner that is accessible to the warfighter.

No excess costs, no excess travel, no time wasted. We come to you, we help you achieve your training goals.

SBGF’s MTTs are the “cherry on top,” of your training.

[For example, a USMC unit is conducting Small Arms Threat Weapons handling training, IAW NAVMC 3500.44D T&R event 0300-WPNS-2003, SBGF’s MTT would provide physical PLA threat weapon models, and a PLA specific threat weapon handling POI to supplement unit training.]

The Samuel B Griffith Foundation is a 501(c)(3) Public Charity EIN: 93-4620308, and is not directly affiliated with the U.S. Department of War.

70 meters a day. 30,000+ Russian casualties a month. Millions of drones a year.

Attrition vs. Maneuver

Open source, unclassified, and based on MCDP 1, with outside reporting from CSIS, RUSI, ISW, and MWI.

MCDP 1 puts every style of warfare on a spectrum. Attrition wins by inflicting and absorbing more losses than the enemy can. Maneuver applies our strength against selected enemy weakness, and it relies on speed and surprise.

Ukraine has shown both. In 2022, a deception in Kherson set up the Kharkiv offensive, which retook more than 2,500 km² in about six days. Today, Russia’s Pokrovsk offensive has averaged about 70 meters a day.

Sensors, drones, and precision fires at every echelon make surprise and massing harder than ever. Units on both sides are adapting, and the argument over whether drones changed maneuver or just modernized attrition isn’t settled.

Doctrine says all warfare is some mix of both. Our job is figuring out how small units maneuver when everything can be seen.

“There is only one principle of war and that’s this. Hit the other fellow, as quick as you can, and as hard as you can, where it hurts him the most, when he ain’t looking.” (Sir William Slim, quoted in MCDP 1-3)

MCDP 1-3 Tactics takes the philosophy in MCDP 1 and applies it at the tactical level. It’s written for every Marine leader, from the fire team leader to the MAGTF commander. The chapters cover achieving a decision, gaining advantage, speed, adapting, cooperating, exploiting success, and much more.

Training Vs Testing by @auraambush

A lot of questions and comments lately that the 191 is AK derived, and/or a Galil like system. This should clear that up. by @auraambush
