August 1, 2026 📍Redmond Aurelia Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy welcomed its very first students🫂 After years of dreaming, planning, designing, learning, building, and praying…today children walked through our doors for the very first time💎 Watching them smile, explore movement, try new things, and simply enjoy being children reminded me exactly why Aurelia exists. Our goal has never been to create champions as quickly as possible. Our goal is to help children grow into confident, healthy, resilient young people through movement, respect, and joy. This is only the beginning. Thank you to every family who trusted us with your children today. Thank you to every child who came with curiosity and courage. Thank you to our incredible team. Aurelia is not a building or a logo, it is the people who choose every day to create a safe, respectful, and inspiring place for children to grow. Watching our very first training session today filled our hearts with gratitude🤍 Thank you for making the beginning of Aurelia so beautiful. This is Chapter One and we’re just getting started✨ #AureliaRhythmicGymnasticsAcademy #DiscoveryDay #RhythmicGymnastics #SeattleKids #RedmondKids KirklandKids SammamishKids ChildDevelopment MovementEducation SafeSport YouthSports ConfidenceThroughMovement by @aureliargacademy

Flexibility is not the same as strength and more stretching isn’t always the answer. One of the most common misconceptions in rhythmic gymnastics is that the more flexible a child becomes, the better prepared they are, but there’s an important difference between being able to reach a position and being able to control it. A gymnast may have beautiful splits and still struggle to maintain alignment, stabilize a joint, or hold a leg independently. Why? Because passive flexibility, active mobility, and muscular strength are related, but they are not the same thing. At Aurelia Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy, we believe flexibility training should be accompanied by: • Age-appropriate strength development • Active range-of-motion exercises • Balance and coordination training • Progressive skill development • Proper recovery and respect for individual limits We don’t believe that forcing a child deeper into a stretch is a measure of good coaching🚩 We believe in developing the strength, awareness, and control needed to use flexibility meaningfully🤍 The goal isn’t simply to reach a position. It’s to develop the ability to move into it, control it, and return safely. Because in rhythmic gymnastics, beautiful movement should be supported by strong foundations. October 27 | Celebrating Coach Alla’s 30th Birthday! 🤍 Yesterday, our Aurelia family celebrated a very special milestone — the 30th birthday of our Founder & Head Coach, Alla Shalimova! For Coach Alla, birthdays are not only about celebrating another year of life. They’re also about gratitude, connection, and the people who make the journey meaningful. And this year, one of the most beautiful parts of her birthday was spending it doing what she loves, teaching, encouraging, and celebrating the young athletes who are becoming part of Aurelia’s story. Aurelia was built from a belief that gymnastics should help children grow not only as athletes, but as confident, curious, capable human beings. Today, we celebrate the person behind that vision. Happy 30th Birthday, Coach Alla! May this new decade bring beautiful discoveries, meaningful connections, and many more moments of growth together. With love, Your Aurelia Family 🤍✨ by @aureliargacademy
✨ What should a 5–7-year-old actually learn in rhythmic gymnastics? More than splits. More than beautiful poses. More than simply copying the coach🤍 Welcome to Aurelia Foundation | Ages 5–7 — where young gymnasts begin developing the essential skills that support their long-term growth in rhythmic gymnastics. At this stage, children gradually move from playful exploration toward more structured movement education. Through age-appropriate training, we focus on: ✨ Balance & coordination — learning to move with greater control and stability. ✨ Posture & body awareness — understanding alignment and how the body moves. ✨ Foundational gymnastics technique — introducing jumps, balances, turns, and basic apparatus handling. ✨ Strength & flexibility with control — developing physical foundations without forcing advanced skills. ✨ Musicality & artistry — connecting movement with rhythm, expression, and creativity. ✨ Focus, discipline & confidence — learning to listen, practice, ask questions, and work toward new goals. At @aureliargacademy we don’t believe in rushing children toward advanced skills before their foundations are ready. We believe in teaching children not only how to perform a movement, but how to understand it. Because strong foundations create opportunities for long-term development — in gymnastics and beyond. 🤍 AURELIA FOUNDATION | AGES 5–7 WEEKLY CLASS SCHEDULE 📍 REDMOND, WA Thursday | 5:00–6:00 PM 📍 KIRKLAND, WA Saturday | 3:00–4:00 PM ENROLLMENT IS OPEN! ✨ Does my 4-year-old need to be flexible to start rhythmic gymnastics? Not at all🤍 At Little Aurelia | Ages 4–5, children don’t need to know how to do splits, have gymnastics experience, or arrive with special skills. This is where their journey begins💎 Through age-appropriate movement, music, playful exercises, and an introduction to rhythmic gymnastics apparatus, our young gymnasts develop: ✨ Balance, coordination & body awareness ✨ Posture and foundational movement skills ✨ Rhythm, musicality & creativity ✨ Age-appropriate flexibility and strength ✨ Listening, focus & independence ✨ Confidence to explore, learn, and try something new At Aurelia, we believe early gymnastics should be about building strong foundations, not rushing advanced skills. We introduce structure and discipline while making space for curiosity, individual development, and the joy of movement. Not sure which Aurelia program is the right starting point for your child? 🤍 There is no single path that every young athlete should follow at exactly the same pace. At Aurelia, our programs are designed to build progressively — giving children the foundation they need before adding more complexity, training volume, and technical demands. 🌸 Little Aurelia | Ages 4–5 A joyful introduction to rhythmic gymnastics through coordination, body awareness, musicality, movement fundamentals, and early apparatus exploration. 💖 Foundation | Ages 5–7 We begin building the technical base: posture, alignment, strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, body technique, and apparatus fundamentals. 💎 Development & Pre-Team | Ages 7+ Training becomes more detailed and structured as athletes develop greater technical control, consistency, strength, apparatus skills, artistry, and readiness for more advanced work. Pre-Team placement is based on coach evaluation. 🤍 Supplemental Training | Ages 8+ Additional training in areas such as acrobatics, conditioning, flexibility, mobility, ballet, movement quality, and performance skills — including options for athletes from other sports. Age is part of placement, but it is not the only factor. We also consider previous experience, technical readiness, body awareness, consistency, motivation, physical readiness, and the athlete’s individual goals. Because progressing well is not about getting to the next level as quickly as possible. It is about being prepared for what comes next. Enrollment is open. Not sure where your child belongs? Send us her age + previous experience, and we’ll help you find the right starting point. 📍 Redmond • Kirkland • Bellevue 🇺🇸 📞 425-542-5261 🌐 aureliarhythmicgymnasticsacademy.com Safe • Strong • Respected. by @aureliargacademy
A NEW CHAPTER FOR AURELIA🤍 We are proud to share an important milestone in the growth of Aurelia Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy. Aurelia is now officially an active USA Gymnastics Member Club @usagym @usagymrg for the 2026–2027 season. For us, this is more than another line beside our name. It represents another step in building the kind of rhythmic gymnastics academy we set out to create, one where young athletes can develop from their first introduction to the sport toward increasingly advanced training and, when they are ready, competitive opportunities. Our philosophy remains the same🤍 We believe strong athletes are developed through thoughtful progression, sound technical foundations, body awareness, age-appropriate training, clear communication, and an environment in which children are both challenged and respected. We are building for the long term. From a child learning her first basic movement, to developing apparatus technique, artistry, strength and confidence, to an athlete beginning her competitive journey — every stage matters. And we are incredibly grateful to the families who have trusted Aurelia at the beginning of ours. Thank you for growing with us. The journey is just beginning.
