@authenticallylou and I got to have an absolute blast at @bradcutcliffe ‘s, as always, incredible HAUNT!!!! We raised record funds for charity and got to scare a LOT of people who had a really good time. Man oh man…. I’m already looking forward to next year! by @authenticallylou

I bonked my noggin.

Sometimes things just get silly… we were at the end of an absolutely brutal training session and this happened.

It’s silly days like this that I’ll remember for the rest of my life.

Shoutout to @kolten_betzler for the outstanding elder care. by @authenticallylou

My first day in a gym was May 14, 2010, at the YMCA in Petal, Mississippi. I was terrified, and I had no idea what I was doing.

What I didn’t know walking in is that fitness can heal you. It changed the way I think, and it gave me an outlet when I really needed one. And to be good at it, you have to take the best care of yourself you possibly can, which means at some point you have to love yourself and nurture yourself. I didn’t expect that part at all.

Fitness turned into a framework for making the rest of my life better, because the discipline and structure it takes carried into everything else I do. You learn to keep the promises you make to yourself, and you become somebody you can respect. It’s the whole reason I signed up for my first bodybuilding show, to get more structure into my business.

I’ve been coaching full time since 2012. Along the way I’ve helped athletes set world records and earn college scholarships. At my first bodybuilding show I took first in middleweight and first in masters, and thirteen months later I placed 8th at NPC Nationals. And I’m a much happier person than the guy who walked into that YMCA.

Now I get to help people who are good at just about everything but taking care of themselves, and I couldn’t be more grateful!

I love y’all. by @authenticallylou

When in Tahoe, you must get in the water. Even if the water is 60 degrees, there’s no sun, and it’s quite windy. by @authenticallylou

Reflections on gratitude while we travel…

Love y’all. 🥰🥰🥰👊 by @authenticallylou

It’s been a WONDERFUL week with my niece @sandlingrace11 visiting from Mississippi. It’s been a lot of fun teaching the craft that I love to someone I love. What a restorative and relaxing week it has been! Nothing but love for these people I get to share my time on this earth with. by @authenticallylou

In 52 weeks I’ll be competing to beat the brakes off of this look. We’re locked in and doing the work.

As a coach, I feel it’s super important to always lead from the front. It is a privilege and a joy to get to work with all of the amazing people that choose me to help guide them in their own individual journeys. I couldn’t be more grateful for the life that I get to live with @authenticallylou by my side. by @authenticallylou
