TETHER is a dark, psychological horror romance. It blends haunt, desire, and passion into a tale where Moira Clemens discovers the consequences of what happens when light and darkness collide.

After a near death experience, instead of seeing a white light, twenty-four-year-old, Moira, is thrust into a realm where no human has been before. There she meets Ash, a being that is as ruthless as he is beautiful.

Ash is a prisoner in his world—the prison toying and mocking him as he spends his days isolated. When Moira crosses into his world, he is instantly drawn to her like a moth to a flame, her beauty and essence, making him feel for the first time in centuries. #darkromancereads #indieauthorsofinstagram #horrorbooks #indieauthor #bookstagram by @authortahliaraven

I know how expensive being in this industry is. I am a full-time student and full-time retail worker. I cannot afford professional marketing, character art, and graphics. However, I am very talented when it comes to creating graphics myself and wanted to branch out and help authors in need! He forces her to go back to her body, to earth, secretly plotting ways he can see her again. Back in her mundane life, Moira finds herself haunted by the encounter—life is not as it used to be. She discovers that every time she crosses over the barrier, breaking the balance of nature, she loses a part of herself. Her soul. In this dark romance, you will find out what happens when light and darkness collide, and the consequences when you give into desire.

This isn’t a pity post. This is me being vulnerable and authentic as can be. I was raised in a small, mostly white town where racism was prominent. I have experienced discrimination, racism, and so much hate in a lifetime, but those things, despite their cause of pain and adding to my self-esteem, have taught me to appreciate my identity and to chase my dreams even harder.

When I thought about TETHER, yes it was an exciting thing to pop into my mind, but what stood out for me was the people I imagined in my head to play my characters. I didn’t want picture perfect, cookie cutter characters. I wanted blackness. I wanted a black female main character with a strong voice, who was beautiful and despite her beaut still faced issues with her boss. I wanted her mundane life to be turned upside down by the main male character, Ash. And when Ash came into mind, I thought powerful, ancient and someone who belonged to the seas, with beautiful, sun-kissed, bronze skin and a Dominican and Taíno ancestry that was well-written.

This story is my book baby. It may not be your cup of tea and that’s ok. I can’t wait to share my book baby with the world. As always, I write with my heart, my soul, and with a passion that is so strong and deep.
Stay tuned and be sure to follow me for more updates on TETHER!
