Discover THE STRUCTURES WE BUILD AROUND THE BODY Clothes are cultural, culture is social, society is a structure : we wear the structure of the society. In a year fascinated by a reinvented, commodified and poorly dramatized Victorian era, I would answer the question « What is there after the 19th century? » that it should be the 22nd century. I consider my work as a meditation on time - and the cultural references of fashion that I use are for me a kind of language that works with symbols and touch.Philosopher Emanuele Coccia speaks of the clothes as being a metamorphic item, that allows us to transform ourselves. Corsets, baskets, headpieces have a very powerful and visible effect on our bodies. I choose to reproduce some historical pieces of clothing basing myself on historical pattern of so as to see how to move forward after reliving the pastMy research though is anything but historical or past nostalgic. I love the richness of what has been made but, as Galliano once said, fashion is the contemporary art par excellence because it allows itself to play with the past and its references without getting stuck in it. The past becomes a language rather than a frozen museum. And that’s actually the best way to keep the past alive. To know it, to dig deeper in it and to see how it contains the future as T.S. Here are a few examples of embroidery I made for custom made wedding dresses or for personal research. I used different embroidery techniques such as Boutis, silk flowers, Luneville embroidery, needle embroidery. I created the patterns and used mainly silk to create the embroidery. I’m very grateful for the chance to share my work with my clients who ordered me these creations and for the opportunity to learn more about embroidery during the @goetheinstitut residency I did in Rome last spring with the @culturemoveseurope program. DISCOVER THE FRAGMENTED DRESS - Last May, some very special photo shoot took place in my studio. The balance of depth and lightness was rare and allowed for grace to come through the photos of @emma.corbineau Both models @marinka.arsn and @gemima.11 felt in a very delicate and sincere way how to move, model and give place to the clothes. The fragments are the many small pieces of a thing that was broken. I love fragments because they are left behind, they are mute, and in this silence something secret can be revealed. Something about time itself. The first dress that we shot and that I want to present here is the Fragmented Dress, as a meditation on time. MOBILE TEXTILE SCULPTURE-MUSÉE TRANSITOIRE My research is motivated by the need I feel to expand the possibilities of contact between the public and the work of art. I want to create a tactile language that relates to the senses rather than the intellect.I look at things and I have the urge to touch them because in texture there is life. Texture is a language without words, it awakens spirit and body in a natural and healthy way. I want to move from a world of ideas to a world of sensations so as to lead to an expanded perception.My work explores the valorization of the body. I look for organicity through industrialized fabric and threads.
