🌟AVDAR Design Event 2026 — WILD🌟

What does WILD mean to you?

A world beyond the familiar? A childhood memory spent running free? An idea that doesn't follow the rules?

Every year, our Design Event brings together people from around the world to express their ideas through block design.

This year, we chose WILD as our theme, inspired by a desire to reconnect with nature, embrace our true selves, and dare to venture into the unknown.

At AVDAR, we believe play has no single definition, and neither does creativity. Now, it's your turn to show us what WILD looks like through your eyes.

✨ How to Join
1️⃣ Visit the link in our bio and download the design template. Choose either the square or round template.
2️⃣ Create your own block design and tell us a little about your idea or what inspired you.
3️⃣ Submit your design and description through the form linked in our bio.

🗓️ Deadline: November 19, 2026

🎁 Your Idea, Brought to Life
One selected design will be turned into a limited-edition solid wood block set by AVDAR. The designer will receive 3 sets of their own creation, and their design will be available for others around the world to play with.

You don't need to be a professional designer. You just need an idea you're excited to share. There are no right or wrong ways to interpret WILD, we're here for the unexpected, the imaginative, and the wonderfully different.

So, what does WILD mean to you? We can't wait to see what you create. 💛

Remember to tag your creative friends in the comments!

Children don’t all play the same way — their building skills develop step by step as they grow. From early exploration to creative storytelling, blocks can support different stages of development in simple, meaningful ways. ✨

👶 Around 1 year old — Sensory exploration & grasping
At this stage, babies explore the world through touch and movement.
Large, easy-to-grip blocks help them practice grasping, stacking, and cause-and-effect learning.
🟠 Recommended: Maxi Castle Blocks, Cube Blocks

👧 Around 2 years old — Early construction & imitation
Toddlers begin symbolic play, using blocks to represent real-world objects like cars or houses. Imitation becomes an important part of learning building skills.
🟠 Recommended: Rainbow Blocks, Travel Set

🧒 Around 3 years old — Role play & scene building
Imagination grows quickly. Children start using blocks to create stories and role-play situations, often combined with figures, cars, or animals.
🟠 Recommended: Metropolis Block Set, The Kingdom Block Set

👦 Around 4–5 years old — Complex building & creative thinking
Children can plan structures in their minds and start building more complex, multi-layered designs. Cooperation and early STEM thinking begin to develop.
🟠 Recommended: Multi-floor Block Set, Basic Collection

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 6+ years — Creation & expression
At this stage, children use blocks more intentionally to express ideas, stories, and imagination. Building becomes a form of thinking and storytelling.
🟠 Recommended: Pyramid Block Set, Museum Block

Don’t worry if your child doesn’t “know how to play yet” — stacking, knocking down, and exploring are all part of learning too. You might be surprised by what they create along the way ✨

Mission: Surprise our newlywed coworker without getting caught. 🤫

A little sneaking around, lots of teamwork. Luckily, we had a solid plan and some pretty good acting skills, so we managed to pull off the surprise! 🎉

So happy for you! Wishing you both a lifetime of love, laughter, and happiness.

Every design has a story. And sometimes, the most meaningful ideas come from the simplest moments.

Every year, we host the AVDAR Design Event, inviting people from around the world to bring their ideas and stories to life through block design.

And this year's event is now underway!

We caught up with Emmy @toda_leve , our 2025 winner, to hear about the inspiration behind her design and a little about her family and motherhood journey.

We hope her story inspires you, too.

As Emmy shared:
"If there’s a message that you want to convey that matters to you, it’ll end up a wonderful pastime and beautiful design no matter the outcome of the competition. Just give it a go and enjoy the process!"

And that's a wrap on Baby & Kids Expo Dubai!

Three days filled with little smiles, curious minds, and so many lovely moments of play. It was wonderful to finally meet our local partners and creators in person, connect with families, and see little ones discovering AVDAR for themselves.

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by, played with us, and made us feel so welcome! 🥰

But our story in Dubai doesn't end here.

Since 2025, we've had a local warehouse in Dubai and a dedicated online store serving families across the Middle East. And we're excited to keep bringing AVDAR closer to more families in the region.

Day 1 at @babykidexpo.dubai

There's something special about an expo where little ones get to join in too.

One of our favorite parts of today was seeing how kids reacted to AVDAR for the first time. 🥰 Watching them explore with so much curiosity, try things out in their own way, and simply enjoy playing was such a joy.

It's always lovely to share these play moments in person, and we're so happy to be here 😊

A big thank you to everyone who's visited us so far. And if you haven't stopped by yet, we'd love to meet you! We'll be here through October 24.

@avdar.toys has arrived in our playroom! Our first (because it certainly won’t be the only one) set is the Metropolis set which has a whopping 52 handcrafted pieces for open ended play 💛

This set really encourages little hands to create their own builds with interesting tactile shapes that work together seamlessly.

From the first touch, you can feel the beautiful quality of the wood and how these can be heirloom toys to be passed down.

From people, cars, a dinosaur and so much more, I can easily see how these pieces can become towns, parks, roads, cities and homes 🏡

We’ll continue to share how these toys integrate into our everyday play 👐🏼 by @avdar.toys

A little whimsical wooden castle magic 🏰✨

There’s something so charming about this wooden castle set from @avdar.toys It has that timeless, storybook feel, and I LOVE it!

One of my favorite details is the wooden storage tray. Each piece has its own outlined space, making cleanup a little puzzle of its own.

Isn’t there something so special about wooden toys?

Comment “block” and I’ll send the link over to you! ✨
