heard you needed saving ⚔️💋

farewell to the most theatre-kid halloween season 🦇 by @aveshawkins

september is suicide prevention month, & this dedication page reminded me why it’s so important to talk about mental health.

i’ve struggled with my mental health my entire life. i know all too well what it’s like to be consumed by fear, despair, and not feeling worthy enough. i also know what it’s like to suffer silently, because i didn’t want people to know what i was going through. even today, it feels uncomfortable for me to talk about. it is through other people sharing their stories, however, that i’ve been able to open up & find the good.

if you’ve experienced similar things, i hope you know that it is okay to talk about it. please talk about it. there are so many people who are willing to listen, & offer their support. there are just as many who will find comfort in knowing that they are not alone.

i especially hope you know that there is goodness to be found, even on the hardest of days, & especially in the smallest of things. whether it’s the feeling of sun on your face, or the taste of your favorite food that keeps you going — i hope you continue to find reasons to stay 🤍

(also, thank you @rmgillig for the beautiful dedication page. i can’t wait to sob my eyes out reading this book) by @aveshawkins

there was a time where i thought no one would ever love me enough to marry me. two years ago, ethan proved me wrong & continues to every day.

he truly is my best friend & there’s no one else i’d rather share whole tubs of ice cream with. happy anniversary, sweetheart. i love you, always! 🥂💋 by @aveshawkins
