The others in my local group were created to solve the Great Problem. For some reason, I was created to entertain them. A far less pitiful existence.

Day 23: "Monarch"

Call me crazy but I headcanon our beloved king Sherma of Songclave

Ik the execution isn't the best but I tried to put some more thought into things

For one, I tried to take some inspiration from the citadel architecture for the throne. It's shabby but it's not my worst throne haha

And yes it is very imperative that he wears his crown on top of the cymbal hat

I also tried adding an Everbloom motif to signify the Everbloom that saved Songclave and all of Pharloom when the red maiden took down the grand mother or something, they must have a fairy tale about it by now lol

I also tried to make sure it wasn't too lavish or anything. Sherma is a very humble king and if you're gonna find him anywhere it will be amongst the people, so his throne is a simple short inviting chair because he's a cutie pie

I love Sherma

I could've done a gms, queen hornet or pale king for this but i wanted something more unorthodox for it

One thing I like to do in these kinds of challenges is push the boundaries of what the words could mean. Lantern obviously refers to the lumafly or to the grimm troupe, but I just drew green lantern green prince, because even if I lack in technical skill I love playing around with the skill I DO have

now i sing the anthem

Day 11: "Siblings"

Might be cheating to cherry pick entries but I'm busy asf rn so I got no choice 🤷🏽‍♀️

The idea of the feeling void, of gods with hearts, and especially the way the Shade Lord seems to have some recognition of Hornet, is such a compelling part of their story

The Shade Lord will always be Hornet's sibling in my heart

This isn't my first time working with this concept and it surely won't be my last

I didn't try to do it intentionally but I eventually realised that I really liked how the way Hornet emits pale light and how it contrasts to the perpetual shadow around the Shade Lord is really cool imo

I also like the shading on the needle lol

The architecture of the platform is a damn nightmare to get right omg

#hktober2026 by @andante.che Day 1: "Lantern"

Foreshortening found murdered in a drain bro this fucking sucks 😭🙏🏼

I only gave myself 20 mins for this cos im legit busy asf rn but lmfaoooo

I'm participating somehow or another

I don't have the skill to draw quality stuff fast, nor two hours to waste on what is ultimately a very stupid joke (huge exams), so I am settling for this bs because i just think it's funny

I'm larping art so hard rn ✌🏽

I swear I'm locking in next time gng

OC REDESIGN LESGO

This took me a cumulative time of seven hours lmao

This is A Whimsical Flame (local group gc username AWhimsy), a second gen Iterator in the local group the events of Rain World and Downpour take place in; although most iterators would prefer to pretend he doesn't exist.

Her origins are... unique. About 90% of the way through her construction, his Metropolis was overrun by a rebel faction, name lost to time. They rejected the idea of looking for the triple affirmative, instead constructing the remainder of AWF's structure to make her a bit of a goof, and a generous leader, rather than one who encouraged scarcity. They all eventually died out in the same mystery event that took out the rest of the ancients, leaving him to figure out what to do with herself.

She eventually took on two new pursuits in life; the first is ecology. She and her scug travel the area to observe the fauna and flora, which he has come to appreciate immensely, in the fine tuned architecture of the ecosystem around them. The second is serving as entertainment and emotional support to the local group, although it's not always appreciated by the rest of the iterators; most of which with varying degrees of poor mental health.

He has a very close relationship with Looks To The Moon. She was one of the first to speak out on her behalf when Five Pebbles went rogue and nearly got both of them killed, and he's currently trying to send his scug to her comms towers to repair whatever limited communications she regained after the actions of the Rivulet.

I'll draw her scug later lmao

My submission for @kiiroka_ 1K followers DTIYS challenge

this took me 3 hours and yes I am embarrassed by that fact

it's like 1am on the 20th, that definitely counts as within the deadline, right? 🥺🥺🥺

I know this pales in comparison to the incredible entries in this challenge, by incredibly talented artists, but I think there's something worthwhile in participation

A year ago, I don't think I would've considered myself capable of drawing a scene at all, much less one with three characters and perspective

Here I am using colour theory for the first time. Apparently adding purple actually makes shadow. And apparently white under blue light is actually light blue.

I also tried perspective, although I definitely failed that one (THK's stool is awful bro 😭) I love how the everblooms turned out though tbf

Looking back there is definitely more I could've done but I'm sleepy asf and I think I've done something decent

It might not be the best, or even good for that matter, but dammit I am proud of it

Because I had fun, and I put myself under pressure to tackle something way above my skill level and ended up with a semi decent result and some new experience 💙

HAPPY FIRST SILKVERSARY!!!!

In honour of this occasion, here are some of the artworks I've made since the game's release until now!

Silksong was the game that really convinced me to try drawing in the first place so one could call this my first year of actually trying

1. I tried drawing hornet in a First Sinner dress, then thought "hey let's make a whole scene for this" and it kinda spiralled out of control.

Looking back, if I had known a bit of colour theory I could've made it pop a lot more, but it was my first time actively composing an entire scene and I think I did something right

2. My first doodle sesh that made me realise I wasn't inherently trash at drawing at all. If Hollow Knight and Silksong didn't exist, I'm not sure I would've been inspired to pick up a pencil seriously at all. I'm grateful for that.

3. I did this with colour pens and correcting fluid lmao

I really like how the hair turned out personally, and the posture I somehow pulled off

4. I was playing Dark Souls at the time when I made this

I, for some reason, thought of how I could merge the two and I came up with this

I USED A REFERENCE BTW I DO NOT KNOW ANATOMY

I really liked designing the colour scheme and stuff tho, and the mask is creepy in a way my poor drawing skils actually improve in

5. Getting them to look similar and getting the pose right was an absolute nightmare and I nearly tore through the paper with how many times I drew and erased

I think it turned out really good

Getting greenish blue required me to draw blue and yellow over each other a hundred times which was annoying but surprisingly effective

6. I drew this for HKAM2026 for category Garmond and Zaza

It was mt first time actually using some semblance of perspective and trying to make a scene believable

I'm not a fan of the rendering tho, once again my poor colour knowledge strikes again

7. This is a very rudimentary one that I threw together in an hour or two

I still like it though

I should probably redo it more cleanly later by @awhimsicalflame
