Söderhallarna is open again!

On October 22, the night before the public opening, we brought together friends, tenants and the local community for a pre-opening evening dedicated to reintroducing Söderhallarna to Stockholm.

No extravaganza, no balloons or DJs. Just a long-awaited reunion.

A big thank you to @atriumljungberg and all the amazing tenants for being part of this journey.

Niklas Falkman has spent nearly 30 years as a copywriter. Along the way he’s also become one of Stockholm’s most trusted voices on food and drink. We met him at L’Usine Bleue on Nytorget to talk about curiosity, the city’s restaurant scene and his many tips on Södermalm.

Thanks for having us, Niklas. by @aworldbeneath

Ahead of its reopening on 23 October, Söderhallarna hosted a community dinner bringing together its market hall vendors for a first taste of what the renewed food destination will have to offer.

Pärlans Konfektyr, Sjömatbaren, Affinage and Köttkompaniet were all represented, offering a glimpse of the flavours and experiences awaiting visitors.

Lina Thomsgård does many things. One of them is Dumma Människor, one of Sweden’s most popular podcasts. We met her at Kaffebar on Bysistorget to talk about passion-driven work, what it really means to have enough and her many, many favourites on Södermalm.

Last week, we celebrated the launch of @oatly’s new iKaffe Coconut Flavour with a spicy evening at @surfersstockholm.

Together with @thepepperquest, guests took on the Chilli Challenge, making their way through fiery flavours and spices — with an Oatly iKaffe Coconut drink on hand to cool things down.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and took on the heat! by @aworldbeneath

Anna Norström is one of Sweden’s most influential food journalists, clocking up at least 500 meals on the job each year. We met her over lunch to talk about the restaurant industry, what decision-makers are getting wrong and her favourites on Södermalm. The tips alone are worth the read.
