Swatch “THE WANDERER” 🇹🇭 Besides my usual kitchen magnets from travels, I was told by @axplode during our @watchlads.bkk meetup to bring back a Bangkok keepsake that actually fits my passion. So this time, it had to be a watch.

“THE WANDERER” is a special piece from the Swatch Destination Art series, created exclusively for Bangkok in collaboration with local contemporary artist Phannapast Taychamaythakool. Born and raised in Bangkok, her work blends storytelling, nature and Thai cultural heritage in a playful and colorful way.

The design centers around „Hanuman“, the legendary character from the Thai epic „Ramakien“, known for his strength, loyalty and protective nature. Surrounded by the moon and stars, and decorated with the traditional „Prajam Yam“ motif, the watch is like a modern talisman, inspired by the Thai tradition of carrying protective amulets.

A nice detail is the strap keeper, which features Bangkok written in both Latin letters and Thai (กรุงเทพฯ) on each side. It can easily be turned around depending on which version you prefer.

For locals it celebrates the vibrant spirit of Bangkok. For visitors like me, it becomes something more: a memory and talisman you can wear on your wrist.

Another reminder that watches don’t have to be expensive to be special. Sometimes they just need a story, a place, and the moment you found them. ⌚🇹🇭✨ #chrisonwatches

Home office is not that bad with Cartier Tank Solo XL Automatic ref. 3515 with automatic in-house movement. This model surprisingly found a place inside my collection and I really enjoy it… But thinking about bright green strap on it to wear it more casual… This is just random try of new lens on my old/new camera 📸 and trying to learn how to use camera and took some better photo than on phone 👀 still long journey for sure… taken in Bangkok, Thailand by @chrisonwatches

To bola teda jazda … po X rokoch už nie som študent, zakončil som to tým, čo sa mi pred rokmi zdalo nereálne. Priradením 3 písmen, pred meno. Pre asi väčšinu sú to obyčajné písmená, ktoré sa stali v dnešnej dobe už takým štandardom, pre mňa však majú hlbší význam, ako by sa na 1. pohľad zdalo. Snažil som sa vždy popri štúdiu držať kariérne tempo a úspech s tými, ktorí si vybrali kariéru pred školou. A to na rôznych úrovniach a oblastiach. Myslím si, že sa mi to v rámci možností darilo aj keď nie vždy je všetko ružové. Pre každého je správna iná cesta a je dôležité si za tým ísť. Od dnes je čas dobehnúť to čomu som sa nemohol venovať na 100% popri štúdiu. Práve kvôli nemu, som veľa veci odďaľoval, boli aj chvíle, keď mi štúdium ukrojovalo veľa. To vedia všetci v mojom blízkom okolí a živote. Začína nová kapitola života, kedy som konečne na rade, aby som niektorých dobehol a hlavne predbehol vo všetkom čomu sa budem venovať a do čoho sa pustím… Dravosť a ambicióznosť sú pre mňa najdôležitejšie vlastnosti, ktoré človeka kariérne odlíšia od zvyšku a priemeru a priblížia k akémukoľvek úspechu. Niekto si tieto vlasnosti mýli s namyslenosťou alebo nedajbože aroganciou, myslieť si to je to však chybné. O dolezitosti som sa utvrdil aj počas môjho štúdia na VŠ, kde moja cesta po rokoch zatiaľ končí… Som vďačný všetkým, ktorých som spoznal, ktorí ma posúvali a inšpirovali. To bol totiž hlavný dôvod prečo študovať. Samozrejme bez vnútornej motivácie by to nešlo, to vie každý, kto si to skúsil na vlastnej koži… Okrem toho všetkého, som si odniesol z celej tejto jazdy uvedomenie si dôležitosti sebazapretia a schopnosti často krát vyjsť z komfortnej zóny a vystavovať sa situáciám, ktoré bežne človek nechce zažívať a hlavne nemusí, pokial nechce. Tieto moje myšlienky, si tu chcem odložiť, ako pripomienku, čo som mal v hlave tesne po tejto etape života. A aby to slúžilo ako referencia osobného posunu… Mám rád, trefné frázy a pri všetkej pokore, ktorú je extra dôležité zdôrazniť po tom všetkom čo som napísal vyššie, sa mi na koniec hodí, jeden dobre známy výrok z latinčiny : Veni, vidi, vici.
