My Birth Plan 👇🏼

I sure need mine. by @b_luvan

1st! I prayed and consulted my maker for wisdom and discernment. Every birth is different. But if you want to go from “I hope it goes well.. to I know what I need and trust God to see it through” learn about some of the things you CAN say no to because you always have a choice. I wrote up a birth plan and had the nurses print it out saying:

1. NO to induction (including pitocin, membrane sweep, cytotec, and cervidill as it would interfere with my bodies natural resolve and add pressure and disruption to my body and baby. Baby will come when ready.)

2. NO to unnecessary cervical checks (Especially when I am close to pushing. My body will tell me loud and clear when to push and NO I am not going to stop it. Cervical checks can also increase risk of infection and slow down the flow/process of labor.)

3. NO to attached fetal monitoring (it is not necessary and can restrict ease of movement)

4. NO to IVs (during early labor + active as it is also restricting)

5. NO to epidural and narcotics (If I can’t feel what’s happening, I can’t work with my body for the most smooth outcome. I promise there are breaks in between contractions to breathe and reset that if prepared well, can make the process easier and faster!)

6. NO to laying down to push (I want to work with gravity! Standing up was my fastest labor and delivery! & it made contractions come and go quickly with less pressure! 🙌🏼)

7. NO to hands on assistance.

8. NO to rubbing the baby once out (If baby is crying, breathing and not purple, they are okay and don’t need the vernix rubbed off as it is a nourishing and protective layer. They can remain calm and safe against mamas chest.)

9. NO to early cord clamping (So baby can benefit from oxygen to vital organs, vitamins, minerals, nutrients, red and white blood cells).

10. NO to weighing baby before we’ve spent at least 1 hour after birth having skin to skin without interruption. This helps both bodies regulate and is a good time for the first latch.

11. NO to baby leaving my side.

12. NO to hospital bath.

Mama, never feel like you don’t have a choice.

What would you say no to? 🙅🏽‍♀️

The biggest blessing being their Mama 🙏🏼 by @b_luvan

Mothers… Do not let this Mother’s Day arrive without claiming the authority God has given you and walking in it with Holy Boldness with the sword if the living word in your hand.

I feel led by the Holy Spirit to share this.

After my husband and I put all 4 kids to bed on time tonight we went straight to sitting down together reflecting on our day. Somewhere in the conversation I got discouraged that when we went to do our own thing my mind was swarming with all of the things that are currently unsettled in my heart.

I decided okay, I am overwhelmed, I’ll journal all these complaints to Jesus… half way down the page one of our kids woke up crying. I stopped writing and went into his room and asked him if he had a bad dream. He said yes but didn’t want to share. So, I immediately went into prayer.

& just like that.. my attitude, my posture.. SHIFTED.

I began praying over his mind and declaring peace over it, over my mind, everyone one of our children’s minds and our entire home. In the authority the Lord gave me, I rebuked every spirit that was not of God and rebuked the plans and attacks of the enemy. I prayed over my marriage, our family & claimed back the power, love and sound mind that belongs to us.

I went from writing down every complaint the enemy wanted me to focus on to using the power in my tongue to SPEAK LIFE over my children and home. Children are a gift in more ways than we can imagine. But one of them is the responsibility we have to cover them in prayer!

It calls us to come up higher! & walk in the authority of Jesus and calls us to dive deeper into intimacy with Him.

“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Luke‬ ‭10‬:‭19‬ ‭

Hallelujah. The Lord’s Grace and Mercy renews everyday. Let us walk boldly Mothers, cover and protect our children, our own mind, our marriages and claim and protect was it ours. In Jesus name. Amen.

As your doula, here’s what I won’t do—because your experience deserves respect, presence, and support:

• I won’t make decisions for you—I help you feel informed and confident in your choices.

• I won’t judge your birth experience or try to shape it into my own preferences.

• I won’t dismiss your voice—you deserve to feel heard at every stage.

• I won’t replace your medical team—I support collaboration and communication.

• I won’t abandon you when things get intense—I stay grounded and present with you.

My passion is supporting you through an informed and empowered birth experience. I am your partner in that process.

If this resonates and you’re looking for a doula, comment ‘DOULA’ and I’ll message you directly.

One thing I would NEVER do again during labor… eat pizza 😅

It sounded like a good idea at the time but let’s just say… my body did not agree with me when I did this with my first birth 🤭

But honestly, it’s bigger than just the pizza.

After 4 births, I’ve learned that what I eat, who I have around me, and how I protect my space during labor makes a HUGE difference in how I feel and how my labor progresses.

Here are a few things I personally would never do again during labor:

• Eat heavy/greasy food
• Ignore early labor and not rest
• Let too many people in the room
• Stay in one position too long
• Go into labor already exhausted
• Wait too long to hydrate
• Skip eating altogether (or go too long without fuel)
• Stay on my back the whole time
• Fight contractions instead of working with them
• Ignore when my body tells me to change positions
• Say yes to things without fully understanding them
• Let the room feel chaotic or loud
• Stay hooked up to things that limit movement (if not necessary)
• Feel rushed just because of a timeline
•Not speak up when something didn’t feel right

Every birth is different, but being intentional changed everything for me 🤍

If you’re preparing for your own birth and want something that helps you feel confident in your choices, I wrote out the exact plan I used ⬇️
