In full preparation for next month’s recordings! 🤩 A little sneak-peek into my new fascination ánd program, which is aaaaall about incredible female musicians of the 20th and 21th century 💪 . this is a fragment from Près du Ruisseau by Mel Bonis 🌊 by @babette.craens
In august I had the privilege to make Belgian repertoire come to life on the historic Benoit-Pleyel of @muziekmuseumvleeshuis 🤍 . This a fragment of the third prelude of Paul Gilson, out of three preludes of which I didn’t find any recording yet. This was a more intense creative process in making thoughtful musical choices - not only on how I hear and feel the music, but also in relation to the historic Pleyel. A quite fascinating journey ! ☁️ . All three preludes are recorded and posted on their website and on Youtube by @babette.craens
How I am at home 99% of the time when I’m not practicing 🙃 the abnormal love I have for my cat should honestly be studied . . … and don’t worry: she loves it & she's used to me doing this with her for 19 years+ … she developed a strong coping mechanism 🤓 by @babette.craens
17-year old Babette playing Beethovens Pianoconcerto No.1 🥰 . Talking about a throwback ALL the way to 2016 🙌 This was in Amuz with Edwig Abrath conducting and fellow musicians and teachers of @de_kunsthumaniora_klassiek ✨ . How the time flies .. ☁️ by @babette.craens
Totally unrelated to any project, but I liked playing this piece in concert last week ☁️🩵 . The moment where the audience is so extremely silent where you can feel them listening with their full attention, has always been the reason I love performing. Sharing a moment of full presence together is truly magic every time, it never gets old. . Menuet in g minor by F. Händel (arr. Wilhelm Kempff) by @babette.craens

A year ago today, we began recording Lacunes. Those few days in the studio became something we'll always look back on with so much gratitude. Thank you to everyone who helped shape this album and believed in it from the very beginning. If you haven't discovered Lacunes yet, we'd be so happy to have you listen. We poured so much love into this album, and we hope it finds a place with you too. You can stream it on your favourite platform or find a CD through us or at the record store. 🤍 -- Soprano: @fleurstrijbos Pianist: @babette.craens Video: @vdpcreations Sound: @korneelbernolet Venue: @musicchapel Supported by Swuk Vlaanderen -- #classicalmusic #album #CD #piano #soprano by @babette.craens
