POSTS STORIES REELS

Today marks my 33rd year 💫
I took a sabbatical this summer to really listen to how I want my artistic practice to evolve in the next few years.
What came was a lot of letting go. Shedding of the many paths I walk in. Accepting the countless possibilities I see as inspiration. Distillation💧
What will come this year is more large scale, more abstract, more music, more travel, deepening friendships. I’ve been going to sleep excited to wake up and start again.
If you want a deeper dive into my art, thoughts, and secrets, I’m starting a newsletter. You can sign up at the link in my bio. Thanks for being here, I couldn’t do it without you ♥️ by @bad.chuck

for gavin, who, like me, burns the candle at both ends just to bask in the glow. 🕯️ inspired by “First Fig” by Edna St. Vincent Millay. full poem in comments. by @bad.chuck

More placements like this! by @bad.chuck

hi, i’m chuck.

i make tattoos, ceramics, steel furniture, music, and whatever else the idea calls for.

i’ve never been very interested in sticking to one medium. i’d rather follow the idea and see what it wants to become.

thanks for stepping into my world.

glad you’re here. by @bad.chuck

freehand designing gives me so much freedom to work with the flow of the body.

the goal here was a bold black-and-red torso piece referencing soundwaves, emphasizing the shoulders, chest, and lines of the torso.

love how this one turned out.

you can submit large-scale freehand requests for oct/nov/dec 2026 at the link in my bio. by @bad.chuck

norfolk, drawn by hand.

each design will be tattooed once in black and once in color, then retired.

books are open for october in austin and la, you know what to do. by @bad.chuck

when i first dreamt up chair man, the vision was a real, functioning absurdist chair.

i made a 10-inch-tall metallic clay version for the everyman group show, and when weston saw it, i didn’t even have to ask for his help. in fact, i hadn’t even told him i wanted to make it life-sized. he just saw the vision too and wanted to bring it to life as much as i did.

in return, i got to bring one of his ideas to life.

he had been dreaming up a bobcat tattoo with american traditional elements and a deep, muted color palette. after quite a few rounds of edits, i love where we landed. it feels like a beautiful exploration, a melding of styles. still very me, but also something new.

i’ll be thinking about this one for years to come. thanks for the help and the trust, weston!! by @bad.chuck

The billboard deserved a spot on my grid.
