From American Ethanol Mystic Racing Team: Day 1 at the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout 🏁

We made two passes down the course today, and while we didn’t get the number we came here for, we made some good progress.

On our first run, we had trouble getting on plane and were still working through the trim setup. Even with those issues, we ran 198 MPH in just 3/8 of a mile.

After making some adjustments, we had the trim figured out and went back out for our second pass. The boat ran 204 MPH, but at around 150 MPH we had an engine lay down, and we found that we had broken a rod bolt in one of the starboard engines.

So now the real work begins.

Tonight, the crew is pulling the engines and installing our spares, transferring the accessories and doing everything they can to get American Ethanol back together and ready to run tomorrow.

It’s going to be a long night, but this team doesn’t quit. A huge thank you to our crew for putting in the hours and doing whatever it takes.

204 MPH today. We’re not done yet. See you tomorrow. 🏁

FINE TUNING THE BEAST 🔥🔊

Don Onken, Tony Battiato, Earl Mooreman and the American Ethanol crew were hard at work this morning—revving the engines and fine-tuning their legendary Mystic before the biggest powerboating weekend of the year.

After an unprecedented 10 straight Top Gun victories, does American Ethanol have what it takes to reclaim the title in 2026? 🏆
