Last peonies of the season ... . Till next summer then. . What’s your favorite flower? #peonyseason #booksandpeonies #peonylover #hardcover #fortheloveofbooks by @bags.and.books
Yes! Many of you were right, I did pick up The Great Gatsby at Pulp Fiction Books. . I have a few titles that I collect in different editions, and Gatsby is one of them. . Do you collect same books in different editions? #TheGreatGatsby #localbookstore #FScottFitzgerald #vacationbookfind #paperbacks by @bags.and.books
I don’t plan our vacation around bookstores but I plan a visit to a local bookstore - because I love books, I love bookstores and I always get a book there to remember my visit. . Here I found this little gem - Pulp Fiction Bookstore @pfbvan . To be honest, I fell for the name first. Then, I saw the variety of books and it won my heart. . I picked up a classic. Can you guess what is it? . Hint - it’a about a man who created an illusion of himself for a woman he loved. . #localbookstore #pulpfictionbookstore #classicbooks #constance18 #bleudunord #baglover by @bags.and.books
Do you have a book on your shelf that you want to read so much but never reach to it? It is City of Girls for me. I guess it’s time 🙌🏻 . #CityofGirls #ElizabethGilbert #ToBeRead #bloomingtrees #bookstoread by @bags.and.books
I haven’t posted any reviews as of late, and I have plenty. Some books were more memorable than others, and How Beautiful We Were does have a special place in my heart. . It is my first book by Imbolo Mbue and definitely would not be the last. First of all, the story telling. It is so beautifully written, it deserves all the praise. It is not structured as usual, the narrative comes from one person to another which gives a special perspective on the story. Second of all, the female protagonist Thula. What an exquisitely developed character! Some of the story is told through her, the other part is reflected on her. Basically, it is the story of her life and struggle to protect her native village from environmental degradation and keep her community determined to fight for their land and their life. . Thank you @bookofcinz who put this book on my radar. Thank you @readwithtoni for being a part of that journey. Thank you Imbolo Mbue for the fantastic book 💙 #howbeautifullwewere #ImboloMbue #Bookreview #BlackAuthors #DiversifyYourReading by @bags.and.books
It is #PeonySeason 💓 Best Flowers ever! Sometimes comes with a friend 🐌 . #peony #booksandflowers #snailsofinstagram #peonylove by @bags.and.books
Let’s talk thrillers! . Usually I turn to thrillers when I feel the reading slump approaching. A page turner, a quick read helps to claw myself out of the slump. However, recently I struggle to find good ones. They all seem meh 😑 Either I read too many of them, or I just sack at choosing the good ones. . Turn of The Key was ok but not fabulous. It was interesting enough to finish but not memorable enough. . Any suggestions book fam? #thrillerbooks #readingslump #turnofthekey #booksareawesome #thrillers by @bags.and.books
Weekend vibes ... . I’d like to welcome my new followers, and invite you to share your favorite author and book/or books with me in the comments. . Let me start - I love Kristen Hannah, Taylor Jenkins Reid and Yaa Gyasi. However, my favorite book ever is Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov. #bluehairdontcare #whatareyoureading #weekendvibes✌️ #summervibes☀️ #bookcommunity by @bags.and.books
A few of my June hopefuls. Two more got buried in grass, and I didn’t have much time to do a better set up as dogs don’t really like to pose. I was lucky enough to snap a few shots as it was ... . Anyhow, I know that I have a way-way-way more than I would probably read but as they say - aim to the moon 🌙... . See anything you read or planning to? #junehopefuls #tbrpile #tbrstack #dobermanforlife #dobermaninstagram by @bags.and.books
OH MY GOD! What a book! Have about 30 pages left and I am not ready to part with it! . It speaks to me on so many levels! . “I haven’t yet figured out if by the place of my birth I was betrayed or I am the betrayer, or why this particular nation and not some other should be our family pendulum.” . “Leaving is a kind of death. You may find yourself with much less than you had before”. . Have you read Infinite Country? Your thoughts? No spoilers please 💙 #currentlyreading #InfiniteCountry #PatriciaEngel #readingoutside #bestbookever by @bags.and.books
Blue hair don’t care! 💙 . With a few of my weekend hopefuls 🤩The Final Revival of Opal and Nev by Dawnie Walton 🤩The Perfect Guests by Emma Rous 🤩The Mimosa Tree Mystery by Ovidia Yu . What are you reading this weekend? #weekendvibes #bluehairdontcare #thefinalrevivalofopalandnev #ThePerfectGuests #TheMimosaTreeMystery by @bags.and.books
I’ve noticed that I start reading slower... Whether it is a quick page turner thriller, or my favorite historical fiction or my go-to Womens Fiction. . So, I still reading The Sound Between The Noted by Barbara Linn Probst generously provided by @booksparks as a part of #SPRC2021 and #SpringBookScope . I do enjoy it - especially the writing style and the flow of the narration. It makes me feel the book and I want to turn the music on. . What’s your usual reading pace? Has it changed? #currentlyreading #womensfiction #thesoundbetweenthenotes by @bags.and.books
