Evidence-informed health education for beauty professionals. Practical health knowledge for what you notice in practice.
Created by @tralinohair

POSTS STORIES REELS

I built something for beauty professionals: Balanced Beauty Edit.
It’s an education platform - evidence-informed health education made for the people behin the chair, the table, and the client experience. Not just for hairstylists. For every licensed beauty professional who wants to understand what they’re seeing and know what to do with it.
The first piece, a foundations workshop, is coming soon: a short, practical training on the health patterns that show up in your work - stress, hormonal shifts, nutrition, medications, lifestyle factors — and how they affect the results you’re already trying to deliver. More education is coming after that.
You don’t need to become a health specialist. You need to know what to notice, how to talk about it, and when to point a client to their doctor. Not diagnosing. Not treating. Just being the professional who catches what others miss.
Follow along at @balancedbeautyedit so you don’t miss when it opens. If you know a stylist, esthetician, nail tech, or massage therapist who’d want this, tag them below.

Balanced Beauty Edit exists for one reason. You already notice things behind the chair or in the salon most training never covers. This is evidence-informed health education, built specifically for beauty professionals, giving you the applied health knowledge to act on what you see, not general wellness content. The free guide in bio is the best place to start.

A client asks, “Should I take this supplement?” What is your first question back? Mine is, “What are you hoping it will help with?” The rest of my approach is in my new Salon Today blog post. Link in bio. by @balancedbeautyedit

Evidence suggests stress can influence hair shedding, which is why a good consultation starts with better questions. I talk it through with Sarah on @lessonsfromyourhairstylist, Episode 39. Full episod and more education for beauty professionals, link in bio.

Did you know that stress can cause hair shedding MONTHS after the stressful event? 😳💇🏼‍♀️

That’s right! The hair you’re losing today may actually be responding to something your body experienced weeks or months ago. 🤯

🎙️ In this clip from Lessons From Your Hairstylist, my guest Tracy Rado of Balanced Beauty Edit explains the delayed connection between stress and hair loss—and why understanding what’s happening inside the body is so important when addressing hair health.

As hairstylists, we need to look beyond the hair itself and understand the bigger picture! 🧬✨

Are we asking the right questions about our clients’ hair health? 🤔💇🏼‍♀️

As hairstylists, we’re trained to recognize hair and scalp concerns, recommend products, and create beautiful results. But what happens when the problem goes deeper than what we can see?

In the latest episode of 🎙️ Lessons From Your Hairstylist, I sit down with public health expert and cosmetologist Tracy Rado of @balancedbeautyedit to discuss why understanding the biology behind hair and scalp health matters—and why the conversations we have with our clients should go beyond their shampoo and styling routine.

Because sometimes, the most important question isn’t what they’re putting ON their hair. It’s what’s happening beneath it. 🔬

Whether you’re a beauty professional or someone struggling to understand changes in your own hair, this is a conversation worth hearing!

Tracy has a workshop for hairstylists who want to go deeper and create a niche for themselves. This episode is a great opportunity for both clients and hairstylist to learn and grow.
To find out more about Tracy and her education for hairstylists, head to our 2026 “Episodes” Highlights in our bio. You’ll find a her link in episode 39’s story. Go ahead and go grab her free resource now to find out if your business is a good candidate for growth and profitability in this area.

if you’re a client confused about what’s going on with your hair, this episode is also for you. Here you will learn how to find a stylist who goes deeper than just products and treatment suggestions.

WIN -WIN 🎉

I’m proud to share my first piece for Salon Today.

Salons are already part of the wellness industry. I wrote about where wellness spending is going and how salons can build on what they are already doing—with retail, service experiences, and health knowledge behind the chair.

That is what I am working toward with Balanced Beauty Edit: making health education practical for beauty professionals.

“Definitely changed how I do my consultations. Gave me more confidence when speaking with my clients on a more realistic level!” - Jammie, on The Health-Informed Stylist (beta)
I was having these conversations with my clients all the time. Health, stress, hormones, what was going on with their hair and skin.
They kept telling me this is why they came back.
I realized my health knowledge was actually valuable, so I built The Health-Informed Stylist to teach it. Jammie went through it as one of my beta students.

Health-informed beauty education isn’t about diagnosing or stepping outside your scope.

It’s about understanding more of what may be affecting the hair, skin, and clients we work with every day—and knowing how to apply that knowledge responsibly in practice.

That’s what I’m building with Balanced Beauty Edit.
