Love, End . Piece is a long-term project developed between 2009 and 2026. As relationships began, photographs accumulated. As relationships ended, countless images were deleted. Yet the vanished images continually reappeared in similar forms through new subjects and new relationships. Ultimately, this work is not a personal story of romance, but a journey exploring the structure through which images are created and disappear within the recurring cycle of love, separation, and love once again. The journey of this project is condensed into the three words that form its title. Love encompasses the emergence of relationships and all the narratives that accompany them. End does not simply signify disappearance. It refers to a state in which unnecessary narratives fall away, allowing the relationship between light and form within the photograph to emerge more clearly. Piece refers to the fragments of images that ultimately remain after this endless cycle. Removed from their original private contexts, these fragments no longer function as photographs that document specific people or events. What becomes significant is the transformation that occurs when independent fragments, left behind across different times and places, are brought together within a single space. Fragments carrying different narratives become organically intertwined, ultimately forming a project, a book, or even a film-like narrative. by @bang.sanghyeok

We continue to accept damaged or partial forms as belonging to their original work. Even when form collapses or parts disappear, we do not necessarily deny them their status as images. If this is so, how are we to understand those that never fully arrived as images in the first place? What becomes of a frame that shares the same material and time as others, yet remains suspended at the threshold of becoming? Can an image that carries exposure but never fully reaches representation still be called an image? Are disappearance and incompleteness truly outside the image? by @bang.sanghyeok
