Today, BANG interns took part in a budgeting exercise to determine the full cost of delivering a project like Stacks, our money management, leadership and entrepreneurship programme. This exercise encouraged interns to think critically about the various costs involved in delivering a project from start to finish. Alongside this, marketing interns developed marketing plans to promote future Stacks programmes. Together, these activities represent two key components of successful project delivery: ensuring a project is fully resourced and building awareness to reach its intended audience. These practical exercises give interns the opportunity to lead real-world projects and build a portfolio of work they can showcase to future employers. Our aim is to equip interns with the skills, experience and evidence needed to pursue careers in their chosen fields, from finance and marketing to project management and psychology. We are building a new generation of young leaders. #bangcharity #financeinterns #internsatBANG #wearebang by @bangcharity
Sessions at Preston Park are going well, as the children tap into their inner artists, to paint their own plant pots! They will be using these to plant seeds and logging and monitoring their progress over the duration of the project. We also learnt about what a plant needs to survive and some of the eco-warriors have taken the initiative to write in their nature journals to share some reflections with the class when we reutrn from half term break. Another eco-warrior even shared that he has started growing a plant from a mango pip; a passion project that he started at the end of summer. GROW Facilitators Lyvonne and Kirsty were super impressed at how engaged and passionate the young people are about learning about their environment. Stay tuned for some timelapse photos over the next month or so :) Have any of you tried growing your own plants at home? #GroundworkLondon #BANGGrow #WeAreBang #Sustainability #PrestonParkPrimarySchool by @bangcharity
In case you missed it, here’s what happened when BANG Young Leaders took over Grand Union, Alperton for The Great Giveaway! ♻️📦 A community sustainability event planned, organised and delivered by young people, giving pre-loved clothes, furniture and kitchen essentials a second life while reducing waste going to landfill. A big thank you to Berkeley, Hounslow Repair Café, @theregarmprojects , @positive_plugz , @katie_sampford6 and all the volunteers who contributed to making The Great Giveaway happen. At BANG, we create opportunities for young people to lead, develop practical skills and gain real experience through initiatives that make a positive contribution to their communities. ✨ A Night to Remember: BANG x PIA ❤️ An evening of good company, meaningful conversations, and a shared commitment to putting young people at the centre of everything we do. On 8 October, we welcomed guests to the PIA Evening for a special gathering filled with reflection, inspiring talks, and gratitude for the people who make our work possible. From celebrating how far BANG has come since 1999 to looking ahead at the next generation of youth leadership, the evening was a reminder of what we can achieve when we come together to create opportunities for young people. A heartfelt thank you to PIA for organising the event and bringing everyone together, and to all our partners and supporters who continue to believe in the potential of young people. Special thanks to the Berkeley Group for their continued support of BANG. 💛 Together, we’re building confidence, developing leaders, and creating brighter futures for young people in Harlesden and beyond. Here’s to continuing the work, together. 🙌 🔗 Find out more or support our work: wearebang.com #WeAreBANG #BANGxPIA #YouthEmpowerment #YouthLeadership #CommunityImpact by @bangcharity
Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Nik and Izzy from @ealing.mencap to BANG HQ. It was a fantastic opportunity for Ealing Mencap to learn more about our work with young people and the wider community. Together with Derrick and our interns, we had some great discussions about the future of our partnership and the exciting opportunities we can create together. These include opportunities for BANG interns to support programmes at Ealing Mencap, while creating pathways for young people from Ealing Mencap to engage with programmes and opportunities at BANG. We thoroughly enjoyed their company and left the meeting feeling inspired by what we can achieve together. Here's to building on a partnership that began through BANG and Ealing Mencap's work with Berkeley! #bangcharity #wearebang by @bangcharity

20 YEARS with JLC. ONE BIG THANK YOU. 🎉    For 20 years, John Lyon’s Charity has been a valued partner in BANG’s journey, helping us create opportunities for young people across Brent and the surrounding boroughs.   Through Stacks and BANG Evolution, this year alone, we reached 343 young people across 7 schools and colleges, building financial literacy, confidence, leadership and enterprise skills.   From young leaders to budding entrepreneurs, this partnership continues to help young people discover their potential and shape their futures. 🌟   To everyone at John Lyon’s Charity, thank you for 20 years of belief, support and impact.  We’re proud of what we’ve built together and excited for what comes next!   Here’s to the next chapter. 🙌 by @bangcharity
Happy Wednesday! BANG & Groundwork have partnered with Manor School, a specialist SEND school in Kensal Rise, to launch a new project about sustainability, being green & teaching young people how to be more eco-friendly, grow their own food etc. We will be helping the young people to develop key life-skills by learning about planting herbs & fruit and veggies, as well as how to maintain a garden, whilst delivering sessions with their individual SEN needs at the forefront. Before we can start the workshops, we need some help from the local community to help transform the green space where we will be holding the workshops, to make it safe, beautiful & ready for the children to enter in the new year when we start workshop delivery. If you are a budding gardener and/or nature enthusiast then we need you! Many hands make lighter work, so join us for a fun community gardening event for the SEND children of Manor School in the local area. Tasks: Weeding & soil maintenance, pruning & decorating (painting the wooden elements), general tidy up of green space. If you’re interested, head to the link in our bio to sign up via ticket tailor! #BANGGROW #tnlcommunityfund #ManorSchool #Sustainability #GroundworkLondon by @bangcharity
Today, BANG attended the Brunel Autumn Fair in Uxbridge. It was a great opportunity to connect with university students and showcase the various opportunities available at BANG. We shared our pathways for undergraduates and graduates, focusing on developing their professional, leadership and enterprise skills to help them achieve their goals and aspirations in work and life. The day was organised and led by current BANG interns Arya, Kimjal and Sai Kumar, who have contributed to major projects at BANG, applying their skills and experience in filmmaking, graphic design, video editing and project management. The interns prepared the marketing materials for the day and shared their personal experiences at BANG, including how they have expanded their professional networks and developed new skills. We are committed to developing young leaders and working with Brunel University to ensure all interns have opportunities to build their skills and improve their employment prospects. by @bangcharity
