Home ❤️

Nestled between the lake, the forest and a big old hill above the village, Bank Ground Farm is the perfect base to enjoy a relaxing holiday, a romantic getaway or a celebration with your favourite gang!

Come and see it for yourself to see the real Lake District. by @bankgroundfarm

No, I don’t want a hotel. I want a 15th century farmhouse in the middle of nowhere, low ceilings, oak beams, an open fire and all ❤️

Hotels are fine if that’s your thing, but there’s nothing quite like waking up somewhere with genuine history built into the walls.

The Farmhouse at Bank Ground has been welcoming guests for over 60 years, and here’s why we think it beats a hotel every time:

🏡 Spread out and relax properly, rather than being tucked into one room
🍳 Eat what you want, when you want, with fresh ingredients from our own farm shop

People always ask us what a year on the farm actually looks like, so here it is, squeezed into 15 seconds (and believe us, it doesn’t feel that quick when you’re living it!).

From lambing season and shearing once the weather warms up to the Aberdeen Angus and the sheep coming back in from the fields so we can keep everyone warm, dry and fed while the Coniston weather does its thing.

Farming doesn’t really do weekends, but we wouldn’t swap it. If you fancy seeing a bit of it for yourself, the Farmhouse switches to self catering from November, log fires and all, and Easter is a cracking time to catch the lambs.

Which time of year would you come and stay? Let us know in the comments. by @bankgroundfarm

Beckfoot 🤎

Open plan living downstairs with beautiful interiors, a proper log fire and doors that open onto the terrace looking over Coniston Water and Coniston Old Man. Two charming bedrooms upstairs, both with beautiful lake views.

Perfect for a family of four or a couple after a bit of space. Pop us a message to check availability.

Have you got a birthday coming up? Skip the restaurant booking and bring the whole birthday to a farm instead (ok, technically we've got a restaurant too, but hear us out!) 🎂

With cottages that can sleep up to 16 guests, panoramic lake views, a terrace and a BBQ, the whole gang's under one roof. Spend the day on paddleboards, warm up in the sauna and dunk in the lake, then let us deliver a fully catered dinner to your door or grab one of our BBQ packs made with our own Aberdeen Angus beef and Jacob lamb.

Nobody has to cook and nobody has to drive, which frankly is the best birthday present going.

Tag the friend whose birthday is next, and book direct through the link in bio 🏡
