✨Found my NEW favorite Night Out at this hidden Japanese-style gem behind ASA Bakery 🤫. From the secret entrance to the rich atmosphere, every detail shines.
🍸 Stepping through, you’ll find a captivating atmosphere with lush red carpets and cozy leather chairs, transporting you to the glamour of the 1920s Era.
🍸 The bar, adorned in beautiful wood paneling🤩 offers a menu of wonderful drinks.
✨The Jiro Dreams of Breakfast, simply sublime. Don’t miss the off-menu surprises and delightful non-alcoholic mocktails. A definite return for a relaxing escape and my favorite cocktail indulgence. 🚪✨.

Where To Drink: 1920’s Japanese Bar and Lounge🇯🇵 🥃
📍@bar.kamon | 634 14th St, San Diego

Hidden somewhere in @asa.bakerycafe is Bar Kamon a stunning 1920’s Taisho Roman inspired Japanese craft cocktail bar. Once inside guests can enjoy the sophisticated atmosphere, vintage Japanese and American furnishings all while sipping some of the best craft cocktails in all of San Diego. 🍸

MEET SYDNEY

Our newest addition behind the bar, Sydney brings equal parts creativity, curiosity, and heart to Kamon.
With a culinary background and experience behind bars of all shapes and sizes, she approaches cocktails with an adventurous spirit, a thoughtful eye, and a genuine love for hospitality.
As a dry bartender, Sydney’s passion for the craft goes well beyond the glass. While she doesn’t drink herself, she still tastes her creations to ensure every cocktail is balanced and just right. Her curiosity keeps her experimenting with homemade amaro and jumping into cocktail competitions, always looking for opportunities to learn and grow.
Creative by nature, lighthearted in spirit, and genuinely caring, Sydney brings her own unique energy to the team.
Next time you’re at Kamon, pull up a seat and say hello!

A seat at Kamon.

Good drinks, good company, and a little time away from everything else.

See you tonight.

For @NegroniWeek, Brett Grimsman (@brettyspaghetti916) @Bar.Kamon created a Negroni variation that combines the roasted notes of hojicha tea with gin, sweet vermouth, a split of Campari and Gran Classico, and touch of coffee liqueur and chocolate bitters. If you’re in San Diego, head over to try one before Negroni Week wraps up, and check out the recipe at the link in our bio.

Negroni Week is back at Bar Kamon.

We love Negronis around here, so we’re always excited for this week. Each year, @imbibe and @campari, @campariamerica bring bars around the world together for @NegroniWeek, supporting @slowfoodusa and their work toward a more equitable and sustainable food and beverage world.

We’re proud to participate again this year with four Bar Kamon takes on the Negroni — available all week.

Drink a Negroni. Support a good cause. ❤️

A little something with your drinks. Or a lot.

Our food menu was made for nights that start with one cocktail and somehow turn into dinner.
Karaage, Japanese-inspired small plates, and plenty to pass around the table — though sharing is entirely optional.
Come hungry

On September 23, we’re welcoming Valeria Plascencia of Bar Bar Not Bar in Todos Santos and Ismael “Pollo” Martínez of 99 Records / SHHH in Mexico City to Bar Kamon for their first guest shift in San Diego.

Valeria joins us from Bar Bar Not Bar in Todos Santos, while Pollo joins us from 99 Records / SHHH in Mexico City, following a career that has also included leading the bar team at the internationally acclaimed Hanky Panky.

Hatcho Bitter Fizz

Nagoya runs a little deeper at Bar Kamon. It’s the hometown of our owners, and the inspiration behind this stop on our OMIYAGE journey.

Smoky Del Maguey Vida meets bitter Campari, housemade grapefruit soda, pink peppercorn and cream — bright, bittersweet and silky with a gentle fizz.

A little piece of Nagoya, interpreted through the Bar Kamon lens.

This drink also carries a little piece of our history.

Louis Paul Chavez was a big influence on the early days of Bar Kamon and helped shape the bar we were becoming. We can still hear him saying, “Hear me out — mezcal Spumoni riff.”

That idea stayed with us, and years later, you can find a little of it in this glass.

Rest easy, Louis. ❤️
