POSTS STORIES REELS

I’ve been seeing this trend go around and finally asked how to do it, and my bestie @doveweedreads made it for me because I have no tech skills or patience 😂😂

Instead of spelling my handle with books from my shelves, I just chose eighteen of my favorites! See anything you loved or want to read?

Happy Memorial Day weekend! Enjoy your time off and I hope you all have great weather!

OOOKAY! It took some drama, but I finally finished this book — I had to lead the last 20 pages on my phone after already returning it to the library, but we did it. I have two things to say about this book:

• I liked it.
• It was too long.

The build up was great, the middle part dragged, and the end was crazy. I recommend it, but be aware that you’re definitely making a commitment. There are also something like 14 total books planned for the series, so it’s more than just the one 754 pager.

I may or may not continue reading — I liked it but didn’t love it. I prefer Dungeon Crawler Carl — but it was fun and fresh. Have you read this one? Is it on your radar? by @barefoot.and.bookish

Don’t forget to vote!

I’m a huge fan of informed voting and participation in local elections — if you want to feel like you can make a difference, now is the time! In Virginia, we’re voting on three constitutional amendments, which is hugely important and can impact regular people’s everyday lives.

373 pages. Two days. Not eligible for renewal. Can I make it?

Actually loving it, so my bedtime may be off the table for the next two nights. If you like Dungeon Crawler Carl, He Who Fights With Monsters might be a good pivot! by @barefoot.and.bookish

What do Meg Cabot, Isabel Allende, Sarah Dessen, and Garth Nix have in common? They all feature on the bookshelves in my old bedroom.

Every time we visit my parents I’m reminded of a book or author that I used to love! Who were some of your middle school or high school favorites? by @barefoot.and.bookish

Are we ready?!

I haven’t finished Crescent City and I didn’t do an ACOTAR reread so I may not dive in tomorrow because I don’t feel ready — and I’m on the clock with my current 700+ page library book. I’m thinking after I finish my current read and the books I want to send out to little free libraries before the end of the year, I’ll start a reread — probably just in time for Christmas.

💭 If you’re a fan, will you be reading immediately or holding onto the newest book until you’re good and ready?

This book is about true love and white knights, and what better photo to pair it with than one of my true loves and my white knight.

Tiger passed away a year and a half ago, but she will never not be my soul dog. She’s never far from my thoughts. My husband is obviously my soul human and I wouldn’t get through each day as well as I do without him.

This book was a story of true love and white knights, but it was so much more than that: time travel, a worthy villain, the way that stories affect our pasts and our futures, the power of lore, and dragons. It took me a few pages to get into, but I ended up loving it and I would absolutely recommend.

💭 Who is your white knight? by @barefoot.and.bookish

Friday Flatlay but make it Megan Miranda 💁‍♀️

Megan is a super common millennial name, but there were so few “Megan” role models growing up that it always felt a little lonely. Imagine how awesome it felt finding an author with my name — and spelled the same way!

I love how bright and detailed Megan Miranda’s covers are — and how the longer you look at them, the more likely you are to find something subtle that you missed.

I don’t read as many thrillers as I used to, but I’ll read everything Megan Miranda puts out! I mean, we’re basically twins 👯

💭 Do you share a name with anyone famous? by @barefoot.and.bookish

My neighborhood is home to three Little Free Libraries, and every weekend, the boys and I do a circuit to see if there’s anything new we’d like to bring home for a few days. Our rule of thumb is that for every book we take, we have to either bring it back after we’re done or bring something else to replace it.

I plan on reading and returning both of these — no need to keep them on my shelves when I’m already overflowing and trying to clear out some space. But I didn’t want to pass them up either because I’ve heard good things about both!

I’m currently working through a couple of library books, but then my LFL haul is next up on my TBR: Black Cake, The Maidens, and Magic Hour (not pictured, but picked up about a week ago). Which one of them should I start with?

💭 Do you prefer to own books or to read and return them? by @barefoot.and.bookish

🌈 colorful titles 🎨

For some reason, I thought there would be a lot more books on my shelves with colors in the title than there actually were — and now I’m second guessing myself. Onyx is a color, right?!?

Anyways, like the rest of you, I’m counting down the days until my happy mail arrives on the 27th. I have to work a full day… no reading will be had until the evening. But it’s still the happiest mail to look forward to for the next six days!!

Today I get to squeeze my bestie have a kid-free best friend date night — I hope your Wednesday is equally as amazing 🤩

💭 What’s your favorite book with a color in the title? by @barefoot.and.bookish

Does anyone else like the BER months as much as I do? September is a good month to dip your toes into fall, but things start to get actually BRR in October and I am HERE FOR IT. It was a crisp 37° when I got up this morning and I love that bite of cold air. I could life in autumn forever — seriously though, where should I move where the weather is always October?

Thought I’d pull some BRR books off the shelves to celebrate the fall! Happy Monday, friends!
