Awesome weekend with some amazing people! Great conversations, unrelenting banter, and killer hunting tips from everyone all weekend. Already looking forward to next year! by @barefootdave_

When I first got the Water Bottle Pouch for my Bindle Straps, I noticed the molle panel design made the attachment floppy and not secure.

Sent a quick video to Ben with an idea of extending it one more row to attach both the top and bottom of the pouch. Couple weeks later, Gen 2 arrived.

Rock solid attachment now. Zero flop! by @barefootdave_

I’ve had my Painted Arrow Mag Pro+ for 4 seasons now (2022-2025). Been fortunate enough to harvest 13 deer on film with it using only my iPhone 13 Pro Max recording 4k 60 fps.

Early editing was done on iMovie and more recent videos on CapCut. Super Slow Mo and Stabilization help clean up the footage to see exactly where point of impact is. Lighted nocks are crucial imo. Self filming doesn’t require expensive cameras and bulky camera arms.

Switching to iPhone 18 Pro for the 2026 season to film in 4k 120 fps. Should be much higher quality moving forward!

The Bindle Straps by @hobooutdoorgear are so good. World class straps made in MI with 100% USA materials. Nothing on those straps comes from outside our borders.

Having the privilege to work with Barefoot Amish Ben has been so fun! Testing and suggesting improvements for the straps, making them the best choice on the market. Full review coming soon!

Adding on the water bottle pouch is 👌👌 by @barefootdave_

The Stow N Go bow holder by @genesis3dprintingllc has been a massive upgrade for this year!

Only having a car, I do not have room for a bow case. So my bow always sits on the back seat. Now with a car seat or with any gear back there, there isn’t room.. so I had to throw it on the floor. Not ideal.

The Stow N Go hangers have different sized spacers for your headrest post size, ensuring a tight secure fit. I wasn’t a fan of the other clip on hangers that aren’t 100% secure. by @barefootdave_

2025 MI bow season kicked off with me chasing a wide buck I had on camera on Public land. I had this buck on a rough pattern and knew where he was headed to bed.

Then shifting to my knock on door permission piece of private land spot, I sat with the landowner on a morning hunt where we connected on a nice buck! Unfortunately he didn’t go down easy, but I’m not one to shy away from the struggles of bowhunting.

I skipped out on a few days here in the early season where I killed my biggest buck ever... next video will dive deep into that spot and hunt! by @barefootdave_

38 minutes. As I’m editing my videos from season I’m reminded of the craziness that led up to my biggest buck.

38 minutes I had eyes on him while he was within 40 yards of me. Along with 2 other bucks and 2 additional does.

I drew back twice and let down, waiting for a better shot.

I decided to shoot the smaller buck he was with, but then changed my mind and held out.

He finally came in and still didn’t give me a great shot, but I had to capitalize on what I had.

That is public land hunting. You never know what is going to happen. You have to pick the right tree or you won’t have a chance. You have to take risks. You have to trust yourself.

As Boogieman says.. YOU GOTTA BELIEVE!

Have you ever wondered what goes into designing and hand making incredibly high quality treestand / backpack straps? If so, this is the show for you.

Ben Brown, owner of Hobo Outdoor Gear, joins me in the shop to dive into how and why he started making his Bindle Straps. We cover the challenges of sourcing products in the USA as a small manufacturer.

Barefoot Ben has so much passion for his work and it shows in the quality of the product. He’s a quiet guy who won’t talk about his company much, so this is a unique opportunity to get inside the mind of someone who takes immense pride in offering 100% American made, high quality hunting gear. Can’t wait to see what he comes out with next! by @barefootdave_

Sometimes you’ve gotta get creative with what you have instead of throwing something away just because it’s not perfect anymore. Find a way to make it work. That’s innovation. That’s the kind of grit and ingenuity that helped build this country.

Disclaimer: Before anybody gets their feelings hurt or takes this too seriously, we’re joking. 😂 We do not shoot deer at night, and we do not bait deer. The only exception is that we have a small amount of bait within 250 feet of my house, strictly so we can watch the deer. by @barefootdave_

The 2025 MI deer season officially kicks with Early Doe in Sept.

I tried my luck on public in the morning, but after not being able to make it to where I wanted to go, I settled for a swamp transition off an oak point. Had deer moving through, just couldn’t see them.

Evening hunt I went to my “doe factory” private land permission piece. The action happened quick! Two arrows shot within 6 minutes. Deer kept coming in. Got to bring my dog along for the track too. Ended on a low note after losing permission to track, but very happy with the harvest I did have.

Making videos is a labor of love. Filming is hard to do well and can get real expensive real fast. Editing requires a massive time commitment in the off season.

Why do it then?

Being able to relive the experiences, both good and bad. 2024 season was a pit of ass whoopings and struggles. 2025 kicked off with a super clean and ethical kill on a good size doe to fill the freezer.

This was my reaction that I got to relive 9 months later. The moment this feeling stops after a kill is the moment I hang my bow up. There is no better rush than having a deer walk out and making a perfect shot.
