Soon tofu isn’t always red.

In Korea, it’s also enjoyed in a mild, clear broth. Different colours, the same soft tofu at the heart of the bowl.

Last time, we explored the name. This time, we’re looking at the ingredients—from seafood to kimchi—and the heat you choose.

Next question: how did ham and sausage find their way into soon tofu?

Follow for the next chapter.

Don’t scrape it clean. Yet. 🍲

That golden layer at the bottom of your stone pot? Save it for round two.

Add water and let the toasted rice soften while you enjoy your soon tofu. Finish with 숭늉 (sungnyung)—warm, toasty, and worth slowing down for.

Next time you’re at BCD, ask us how to enjoy it.

Send this to your next dinner buddy.

Past: Fresh, fluffy stone-pot rice.
Present: Mixing in soontofu for that rich, spicy, can’t-stop-eating bite.
Future: Adding water to the toasted rice for warm, nutty sungnyung.

Three delicious chapters. One stone pot.
That’s how we do comfort at Buk Chang Dong.

Soft tofu. Stone-pot rice. One tray. 🍲🔥
Straight off the flame, still bubbling when it reaches your table.

Crack the egg. Stir the rice.
