![“Focus on the mile you’re running,” was the first sign I read during this glorious 13.1 mile run over the weekend. Honestly, it was what got me through the entire race. It has been a pretty tough training season. And if we’re being REALLY honest, I’ve had subpar motivation for movement since the year started. It happens. Head colds don’t particularly help. But it is moments like these allow you remember your why.
Running races is very synonymous to life. Each mile has its own story, like a season of your life. Some [miles] are easier, some [miles] exhaust you, some [miles] fly by.
The reality is, if you think about mile 12 on mile 2, you get in your head and the mind game can turn into the greater challenge alone. In life, if you think too far ahead the same thing can happen. What this one taught me is to stay focused on the here and now. It’s inevitable the rest will come, so why not live in the moment with intention?
28th half marathon in the books! ✅ The day couldn’t have been more gorgeous. I’ve run this race three times. And Saturday was the fastest I’ve run it. I am excited to enter this week proud and humbled by conquering such a feat. 💪🏽
As always, #LLT and #fkALS. Tom Hodges: My forever motivation. On mile 11, I read a sign that said “run while you can”. That mile was all for you, sweet Tom! by @beccaacook](https://scontent-iad3-2.cdninstagram.com/v/t51.82787-15/656283069_18573864115029704_2162076930190007105_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_e35_s640x640_tt6&_nc_cat=105&ccb=7-5&_nc_sid=18de74&efg=eyJlZmdfdGFnIjoiRkVFRC5iZXN0X2ltYWdlX3VybGdlbi5DMyJ9&_nc_ohc=izEiWSzOpFQQ7kNvwHaqOoy&_nc_oc=Adr-hunhi4fTMrss5aws2VHQeD6KO1UFT9GgVwZdvC3AAOvmuyhK6UQiMCzTdItnoWl8RnPPPCeJi-5BjkNo54ok&_nc_zt=23&_nc_ht=scontent-iad3-2.cdninstagram.com&_nc_gid=kktDWHPr8ogD6VYapS5WRg&_nc_ss=70689&oh=00_AQRa1ADagxSYA8fiLy9UXyMBctk2x3r0TFgP8UQgxUkn8g&oe=6AF12C45)
