It was so awesome to bring together a room of awesome humans running great businesses.

Just a space to connect and have good food in #Vancouver ! by @behdadjamshidi_

I have spent decades trying to understand what my superpower is, and I finally found it.

For those that don’t know me, my name is Behdad...

(Although my friends usually call me Bee.)

I’m an engineer turned super connector in the marketing space. I built a business connecting businesses to the right marketing agencies for the last seven years.

But about two and a half years ago, I started thinking, “What do I want to do when I grow up?”

I was doing about 5x the amount of revenue that I ever thought I was going to make in my business...

And I knew that the goal in life was not to continue to make more money.

We’re all meant to connect more with each other, and form deep relationships.

Living a fulfilling life isn’t about a job, or money.

It’s about who you spend your time with. by @behdadjamshidi_

It all started 15 years ago when she stepped into the cell phone store to buy a phone.

It was on Boxing Day, so everything was hectic.

Little did she know that the sales rep... me... would be selling her more than a phone that day!

I also sold her a lifetime warranty for her electronic needs and a future husband .

Today we are celebrating our 15-year anniversary since our first date.

Time has flown by so fast, and it's crazy to think how much of life we have spent with one another.

And yet, every year, frankly, every day, I love her more.

We still cuddle in bed, give each other hugs, and tell each other we love one another every day.

We've travelled the world together and supported one another on our dreams.

We help one another grow into the best version of ourselves and love one another unconditionally.

There is no one else I'd rather spend my life growing old with.

Happy 15th @mojan.far , excited to spend the next lifetime with you. by @behdadjamshidi_

Vancouver entrepreneur dinners are what I love putting together. It feels like play for me and it brings me joy to bring the entrepreneurs in my network doing amazing things in the same room. Not to just connect on business but as humans.

Thanks @belgardkitchen for having us and doing a great job taking care of the night.

When you don't feel 100%, it doesn't mean you have to give your all. You can do things at 50% and still feel like you're moving forward. Still get the body moving and just have fun with it.

So ask yourself the next time you're doing something that you're not enjoying or that you don't feel like you have the energy to do. How can I do this today that will make it feel fun. by @behdadjamshidi_

How to (gracefully) leave a conversation…

Recently at a networking event, someone asked me…

“How do you get out of conversations? You go to so many networking events and you talk to so many people. What if you end up in a conversation where you don’t wanna talk to someone anymore?”

Now this is a good question, but the truth is the answer is a lot easier than it seems.

So I just gave him a couple quick ideas.

It doesn’t have to be something difficult or stressful, no conversation can last forever so there’s usually a natural stopping point where you can use one of these ideas to make your exit.

Once your conversation has gotten to the end or you’re just not enjoying yourself, you’re fully allowed to leave.

It opens up an opportunity for that person to go meet other people, and for you to meet other people as well. by @behdadjamshidi_

Respect and trust are two of the greatest values we can bring into every relationship. Not because they help build successful businesses. But because they help build something much more important first.
A real genuine connection.
I don’t really believe in a “simple strategic networking”. I believe in meeting people with open hearts and deep values. In listening way more than talking, because it helps to understand a person in front of you so much better . In making someone feel that, even if it was only for an hour, they were truly seen and heard.
Because every person has lived a life we’ll never fully understand. That’s why every conversation has the chance to teach us something, if we’re willing to truly listen.
Business was simply the reason that brought all the great people into the same room. What really mattered was what happened after. They all left knowing each other a little better than they did before. That’s where trust begins. And I honestly think that’s where the strongest friendships, partnerships, and businesses grow.

@behdadjamshidi_ I told you this before, and I’ll say it again: seeing people deep is your superpower. It’s a rare gift, and It’s incredible to see how wisely you use it.
I’m grateful I had the chance to witness it all through my camera. Thank you for your trust ! It means so much to me.
