Akshu’s wedding week 🤍✨ So many looks, and each one so different. Loved being part of it all! 2027 bridal bookings are open 🤍 DM BRIDE to inquire. #KWBrides #SouthAsianBridalMakeup #KitchenerWaterlooMakeupArtist #kitchenermakeupartist #waterloomakeupartist Kitchener Makeup Artist Waterloo Makeup Artist Cambridge Makeup Artist by @behindyourglam
Hello everyone! I thought it was about time I re-introduce myself. I am the face behind BEHIND YOUR GLAM. I am Kiran (pronounced keeren… not Karen LOL) I am a Makeup & Hair Artist based in the Kitchener Waterloo Cambridge area. As long as I can remember, I have loved all things beauty and glam. Whether it was dressing up for special occasions or making sure my eyeliner was always sharp AF. I officially got certified in makeup & hair back in 2019 from @pinkorchidstudio. It was an intense week but DEFINITELY worth it. Taking this course grew my confidence in my artistry tremendously and helped me come out of my shell. I also graduated from college studying Business Administration (HR), which I did not end up pursuing. I mean can you imagine me in a cubicle??? I ended up going to college because that’s what was expected and I felt like it was what I HAD to do. Ironically, I had no idea that I would be running my own business one day…so here we are. I have been working in the beauty industry since 2019, which is almost 6 years ago now. (WILD RIGHT?) After I had my son in 2021, I decided I wanted to really focus on freelancing full time. So 2022 was my first year working a full wedding season with back to back weddings each weekend and we haven’t really stopped since. I am so grateful for the flexibility this path provides for me with my two kids at home now. I’m able to spend lots of time with them and then work 1-2 days a week outside the home. (Not including the BTS work that goes into this from home LOL) I couldn’t be happier of how everything has just fell into place and I am able to balance (best as I can) motherhood and freelancing. If you’ve made it this far along I appreciate you! I appreciate every single like, share, comment each one of you have left for me. It honestly means the world to me! I am so excited to glam all of my lovely clients this year. Thanks for getting deep and vulnerable with me🤭🫶🏽 Xoxo BYG Photo: @theartistryroomkw Logo: @_outsidethebox_otb by @behindyourglam

Here’s a little vulnerable post since you guys seem to love these 😂🫶🏽 Honestly, my journey has been all over the place 😂 From almost 10 years at dead end jobs, to going to college because it was just what you were expected to do, to getting married, moving to Kitchener, working at Shoppers and Sephora, and eventually doing makeup full time and building BYG. There’s been a lot of figuring things out along the way, and a lot of things people don’t know about me. The biggest turning point was becoming a mom. Having Armaan made me look at life differently. I started getting out of a victim mentality and realized I wanted more for myself and my family. I started seeing that there was a bigger purpose for me, and that I could actually create something of my own. 🫶🏽 I’ve also been in therapy for the last 3 to 4 years, and my therapist has been one of my biggest cheerleaders. If you’re reading this, thank you for everything!🙏🏽 I’m not sharing this because I’ve made it or have everything figured out. I definitely don’t 😂 I just wanted to share a little bit of my journey and the person behind the business. Still figuring it out, still growing, and still have so much I want to do. Just taking it one step at a time.Anyone else feel like they’re still figuring it all out? 😂🤍 And to every client, every bride, and everyone who has referred me or supported BYG along the way, thank you. It genuinely means so much, and I wouldn’t be here without you. Thankkkkk youuuuu friends!!!! 🫶🏽💛♥️ by @behindyourglam
