Lots of new faces here! So I thought I’d formally introduce myself + tell you a little more about BELLY. ☺️

Helloooo. I’m Rebekkah, mostly known as Bekkah - sometimes Bek.

I was born and raised in (arguably) the best borough in NYC, The Bronx. Both my mom and dad migrated from Kingston, Jamaica to New York in the mid-70’s. My dad became a chef and opened his own restaurant. My mom never needed to become a chef, being a Jamaican woman was already her certification. So most of my life, I grew up in the kitchen. Food was how we professed our love for each other.

All these years later, no one leaves my home hungry. Seriously. When I’m not hosting BELLY., you can find me hosting 30 person dinners for my friends 😅

There was a level of care that I grew up with that I’ve longed for so much once I moved to Stockholm.

It’s the most fulfilling feeling for me to bring people together, watch them bond over food, and most importantly build community in a city where most of the time it feels like it’s every person for themselves. Being able to facilitate that is truly my love language.

With that being said, welcome! Got a lot of fun stuff planned for the summer, so I hope to meet all of you soon. And if we run into each other before then, say hi! 🫂🧡 by @beksbelly

Still trying to find the words because “grateful” doesn’t even begin to cover it. Honestly, I’m only as good as the people who show up for me, and this weekend, y’all showed up so much that we sold out on the last day!! A “little pop-up” had other plans.

What an it was honor to bring a tiny slice of Jamaica to a little corner of Finn Malmgrens väg, and what a surprise to watch it turn into so much more than any of us expected!!

Thank you Una & Emil @cornershop_kitchen for the space, the trust, and the yes before you even knew what you were saying yes to. And thank you to everyone: friends, family, newcomers, regulars, the whole lot.. for eating, bringing your people, and making it feel like something bigger than one weekend.

See y’all soon!! ❤️❤️ by @beksbelly

Nu kör vi!
