Blink and you’ll miss them! Isn’t it funny how quickly the boys move when you speed things up with a time-lapse? One snap of the fingers and those beautiful stained glass panels are installed! If only it were that quick in real life! These custom-built stained glass leadlight panels were designed to create the feeling of sitting at the bottom of the ocean, looking up through the water towards the surface. We’ve used a stunning combination of vibrant blues to capture the movement, depth and beauty of the ocean. As you step out of the elevator, these beautiful illuminated panels greet you, and they’re also perfectly positioned to be enjoyed from the lounge area. A beautiful feature that brings a little piece of the ocean indoors. ✨ BEFORE & AFTER ✨ A little transformation we’re excited to share! This beautiful leadlight panel needed some well-deserved TLC, with numerous breaks and damage throughout. Several doors in this home required attention, including missing pieces of glass, stretched lead came and areas where the leadlights had begun to slump. With careful repairs and restoration, we were able to bring these beautiful pieces back to their former glory. What do you think of the transformation? We’d love to hear your thoughts! 👇 Bello Vetro Stained Glass and Leadlights 40+ years experience with 2 x family generations. Please email or phone for all enquires. We are absolutely in love with this beautiful stained glass leadlight we’ve created for our client’s stairwell! This design is an Art Nouveau inspired piece it became a popular design movement in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, embracing the beauty of nature through floral motifs, organic shapes and graceful curves. These influences found their way into Australian homes, where decorative leadlight windows became a beautiful way to bring colour, character and artistry into everyday spaces. We handpick every colour and texture of glass, choosing each piece to complement the overall design. Then, every individual piece is hand cut, shaped and carefully laid out, ensuring that everything fits together just as it should. Once the glass is perfectly positioned, we begin the leading process, joining each piece together to create the finished panel. There are no shortcuts. Every piece is meticulously handled by hand, from the first cut of glass to the final lead. That’s what makes handmade stained glass so special — every panel is crafted with patience, precision and passion. When classic stained glass meets modern architecture. These custom-made stained-glass panels were designed to complement a beautifully contemporary home, with a clean, understated aesthetic and a colour palette drawn from the interiors. We selected a refined combination of dark amber tobacco, blue-grey, clear glass and delicate white Wispy glass — adding subtle texture and privacy while allowing natural light to filter through. Set against the bold Monument-coloured door, the glass creates a striking entrance: modern, sophisticated and quietly elegant, while offering a glimpse of the colour and character waiting inside. Continuing our little tour of this beautiful Mid-Century Modern home… Here’s another piece of stained glass we had the pleasure of creating for this home, using a mix of rich greens, amber, cream and beautifully textured clear glass. The design plays with one of the hallmarks of Mid-Century Modern style — the balance between strong geometric lines and flowing curves. The straight lines bring structure and simplicity, while the rounded shapes add that lovely organic, playful feel that was so characteristic of the era. A little colour, a little texture, and a whole lot of Mid-Century charm. 40+ years experience with 2 x family generations. Please email or phone for all enquires. Welcome to Mid-Century Modern Maleny! We’ve finally installed these beautiful custom stained glass leadlight doors for the entry of this gorgeous home. Working closely with the owners, we created a mid-century modern design with bold colours and beautiful curves. They also handpicked the glass in their panel. Here, they chose some gorgeous vintage green glass with its natural bubbles and textures, paired with scorch-earth brown and beautiful opalescent glass for privacy while still allowing the light to shine through. We absolutely love how these doors turned out! And a little birdie told me this beautiful home will be available for holidayers to enjoy very soon. 40+ years experience with 2 x family generations. Restoring stained glass and leadlights in homes is something we take great pride in. There’s something incredibly special about carefully restoring an original piece and knowing that we’re helping to preserve a little part of the history of that home — allowing its story to continue for generations to come. We also love when we have the opportunity to create something new as an addition to an older home. A new leadlight can become part of the house’s story, allowing new owners to add their own chapter while still celebrating everything that came before. Because stained glass isn’t just decoration. It becomes part of a home, part of its character, and part of its history. We loved creating this beautiful custom stained-glass panel with a Australiana theme, featuring a colourful kookaburra, rosellas and native-inspired details. Designed to bring a touch of the Australian bush into their outdoor area, the panel comes to life as the light shines through the glass, bringing out the beautiful colours and textures. Safety is always a priority when restoring! When pulling apart old leadlight, always wear the appropriate protective gear. A mask that securely covers both your nose and mouth is essential to help prevent you from breathing in dust and particles released during the process. The old putty can contain lead particles, and lead residue can also transfer to your hands. Always wear gloves where appropriate and wash your hands thoroughly after handling lead came, old putty or other materials associated with leaded glass. Restoration is all about patience, care and respecting both the glass and the materials that hold it together — while making sure we protect ourselves throughout the process.
