POSTS STORIES REELS

A truly magical time was had last night at @swedenborghouse, London, with Alan Moore, Iain Sinclair, and our trusty host @victor.rees.5 discussing More Weight! Honestly, talking about my book with two of my all time favorite writers was an unbelievable experience, and it was such a thrill to finally talk to Alan after years of collaboration. We sold out all the copies of More Weight and The Moon and Serpent Bumper Book of Magic (both from @idwpublishing / @topshelfcomix ) and I got to be reunited with some old and new friends!

So ends the More Weight book tour of 2025...This was truly an evening I will not soon forget! Big thanks to @mcneillystephen at Swedenborg House for making it all possible!

I was so happy to contribute a small photo-collage to my dear pal and collaborator @victor.rees.5 's latest tome, DECOMPOSITIONS, a glorious collection of worm-chewed poetry, crumbling prose, and moldy artwork by some really fantastic folks! I love doing collages, and seldom get to have any published, so this was fun for me. This is "Real Bones in São Paulo," a photo-collage of tombs I found in Brazil. I found real bones, but you'll have to look closely in the picture to find them. Some of the bones are decoys.

Stay tuned for a new project by Victor and I that I'm extremely excited to be working on...

Last night's premiere of @atunsheifilms 's THE VAMPIRES OF NEW ORLEANS at the @thebroadnola was truly special. After being such a fan of this man's YouTube channel for so long, I never expected that I'd someday be providing 5 animated sequences and a prop portrait for what I honestly feel is his masterpiece. Part documentary, part horror romp, the film is a three-hour feast that explains, then perfects, then pulverises, then resuscitates, then has passionate sex with, the vampire lore of New Orleans. Like the city itself, the film has one foot in the land of the living, the other in that of the dead, one in fact, and one in fantasy. What's truly chilling is that the sequences of sharp fangs and torrents of gushing blood pale in comparison to the real social horrors of slavery, racial discrimination, and neglect which shadow New Orleans' past, and Rakich balances these topics expertly. I urge everyone to check out this film upon its October release so that this amazing team can keep making films with bigger budgets and wider theatrical releases.
