Homecoming 2026 for Bentley and his adorable date Claire!! 🌼🌻💛⭐️🤩✨ by @bentleyray04

Closing out an epic summer. by @bentleyray04

27 miles at the Mad Mallard race . Honestly, not as far as I wanted to go. Work called and someone had to carry the boats early 🛶 @riverratscanoerental . Always a fun time on our home training trials. @henryhortonstatepark

The key 🔑 is to keep telling yourself you’re having a good time @midstatemile 🙃 next up Mad Mallard 🦆Race July 10th. More in the tank ✌️ my dad broke his heel and severed a nerve and kept pushing for 70 miles #dawg gonna run this next one for him ..hoping for another ultra status God willing 💪🙏 @schreinertrailphotography 📸 by @bentleyray04

@bentleyray04 completed the @midstatemile arguably one of the hardest last man standing, times, backyard ultras in the country, surrounded by some of the most insane ultra runners out there.

What’s crazy is that people barely recognized Bentley from last year. He’s put on about 40 pounds and has grown to almost 6 feet tall. He reminds me of a puppy that hasn’t quite grown into his paws yet.

He trained harder for Mid-State this year than he did last year, but this year was different. His body is growing fast, and that comes with its own challenges. He finished 23 miles with close to 8,000 feet of elevation gain. While he didn’t hit the 33 miles he ran last year, this was still a huge win.

He had a smile and a positive attitude the entire time until the final stop, when his knees were hurting so badly that we knew it was time to call it. As much as he wanted to keep going, we didnt want to risk messing with a body that still has a lot of growing left to do. He had already pushed incredibly hard.

The biggest difference this year was his mindset. Last year, when he was done, he was basically like, “Thank God that’s over.” This year, he ended sad because he wanted one more loop.

That right there tells me everything.

Scripture says, “The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer.” Psalm 18:2

Hard things reveal what we’re standing on. This race showed that Bentley is building something solid: grit, faith, toughness, joy, maturity, and heart.

This was not a step back. This was growth.

He is hungrier.

Proud doesn’t even cover it. by @bentleyray04

@midstatemile no gas left in the tank. It’s amazing what the human body is capable of if the mind believes. Our 15 year old @bentleyray04 doing hard and incredible things showing grit beyond his years, my husband Levi throwing down serious miles and making it very far again this year while injured 🤪 this year agin… (he crushed it and is our fearless leader showing pain can wait) with God anything is possible. My mother in law @missyray20 doing this on her 59th birthday. I don’t have many words just in awe of these people! My brother in law @zray58 put it perfectly in this audio on the way to the this last man standing ultra.

So grateful for family and friends near and far supporting us and cheering us on! Thank you @jonruns_ and @lilbeccabee for being such amazing race hosts by @bentleyray04

3 generations take on @midstatemile

Known as “The Murder Mile,” it is a 1.1-mile loop on an old, wide logging road. It features roughly 340 feet of elevation gain per loop, including two steep climbs and a fast downhill stretch. The Format: Runners must complete the loop and be back in the starting corral every 20 minutes. If you fail to finish the loop within 20 minutes, you are eliminated. This process repeats continuously until only one runner is left standing.

Our crew @enriquee89 @zray58 @xohannahhovey @christian.e.ray.9 @maryedr @vic_toriaray all helping in different ways to make this happen!

Happy Mother’s Day @happy_homestead_living ! by @bentleyray04

2nd place for Bentley 🥈in his division and 5th 🏅overall 🏃‍♂️💪 on a hilly almost 4 miles course (a little more then a normal 5k) hundreds of people showed up to run and support our fallen armed service members and their families 🙏🇺🇸 I mean is there a better cause to support?! 4 miles lined with boots, photos, faces, etc of our hero’s who have given the ultimate sacrifice. Bentley has been suffering from a never ending cough so we had him run with a mask like thing to help keep some moisture in. He told us it didn’t even phase him seeing all the faces of those brave men and women ❤️🤍💙 as usual he crushed it regardless.. levi helped pace him at the beginning and end (he’s trying not to get injured before his next race) putting those long legs to good use for an awesome cause 🦵👏 by @bentleyray04

21 miles 7,140ft of elevation ⛰️📈🏃All glory to God ✝️He always comes though and helps me get through the most humbling course I’ve ever ran…. And I keep coming back for more it seems.

I’ve done over 100 miles on this course since I was 13 and it’s truly has earned its nickname of TNs murder mile @midstatemile for a reason. It tests your soul. My goal was just to run as much as I could until the clock stopped and keep my mindset right. Mission accomplished.

I’ve met the most incredible people with the most insane stories. Thanks to my family and faith for getting me through another one 🙏 💪 you don’t need your should to run thankfully…and running in Christmas PJs is where it’s at 👌shoutout to @dylan__abnormal he’s a beast and I’m honored to have ran with him 💥 by @bentleyray04
