On Saturday, we said goodbye to our gorgeous dad and Tadcu. A gregarious man who lived life to the fullest. Who lit up the room, and knew everything about everyone in it. He had healing hands and loved to help people. He loved Wales and supported his beloved rugby team when everyone else lost hope. He also loved castles, cowboys, adventures and getting in to mischief, and I can’t wait to pass on those traits to my boys. To the man that thought “Keep Out” and “Private” never applied to him, I will miss you so much, but I hope to keep your fun-loving spirit on. Your long battle with cancer is finally over. I love you, Dw i’n dy garu di 💙

Hey Jude Walter Bond 👋
A very scrumptious addition to our family, born on 21st September 🕺🏻🍂
We can’t wait to get to know you little man. Reuben (who seems ginormous) is the best big brother. Snuggles on the menu for the rest of this Autumn 🍁🍄 by @beth_bond_

Birthday bumps in Bamburgh by @beth_bond_

We were thrilled to be invited to @nationalrestaurantawards top 100 party on Monday. A list that @jackalistair and @beth_bond_ have had their hearts set on since buying The Cottage. Expecting to be placed pretty high, we were over joyed when we were announced as number 62!!

But what took us by absolute surprise was winning the Best Service Award! A huge honour that we have loved bringing home to share with everyone in our team.

A massive thank you to all of the cottage crew, past and present, our guests that make our job so fun, @restaurantmaguk and @joelutrario for putting us forward.

It’s a dream come true!

It’s safe to say we are OVER THE MOON to be included in this years @nationalrestaurantawards 🌙💫

An incredible achievement for our whole team. It’s been @jackalistair and @beth_bond_ ‘s dream to be listed amongst other amazing restaurants that we admire. We can’t wait to celebrate in June! by @beth_bond_

Is it time to change your life and live in the forest?

We’re on the hunt for an Assistant General Manager to join Beth, Jack and the team to start with us this summer.

As you may have noticed we’ve had an exciting few months retaining our Michelin 🌟, Jack winning the North-West heat of GBM (again…) and a flurry of team awards but we’re not slowing down! We need someone to help us achieve our next goals.

Your day to day job will be assisting Beth with the running the hotel and restaurant. Example duties are as follows:

- Managing the restaurant floor team, and assisting with the wider team
-Using the ‘Unreasonable Hospitality’ framework with our guests and team
-Ensuring rooms are maintained to our high standard
-Creating a warm experience for our guests
-Running a smooth Michelin starred restaurant service
-Managing employee reviews and training sessions
-Assisting with staff rotaring and recruitment
-Pushing forward our sustainability initiatives
-Be ‘on call’ when guests are staying over

You will be:

-Empathetic, warm and fair management style
-Detail and process driven
-Calm under pressure and a service superstar
-Experience at Michelin/fine-dining/or a similar calibre restaurant
-Passion & knowledge about restaurants/food/wine/cocktails with a sustainable edge
-Have previous management experience
-Be ambitious, and want the best for them and their team
-Be ready to jump in (sometimes literally) to life in the lakes

On top of your generous salary, you will receive service charge and FREE ACCOMMODATION on site!
