Kyoto/Nara part two:
I didn’t realise this part got cut off of my previous upload, and I really just wanted you to see the amazing tea house + the sweet gardening man weeding the moss !! So inspired by the commitment to beauty here 😌🇯🇵

4 days in Kyoto. I took a day trip to Nara and hung out with the deer for a bit. Wish I could’ve stayed a bit longer in Nara!

Kanazawa up next!

Japan : street view edition
One of my favourite things has been walking along backstreets and stumbling upon somebody’s carefully curated home or workshop, or a beautiful space to welcome visitors in. Here are just a few moments that have caught my attention in my wanderings to and from train stations. I love it here 🥲 by @bethcathkey

Postcards from Japan 🇯🇵💌

Today marks a week since I arrived in Japan, a nervous solo traveller, with anxiety i’ve not experienced since I was a kid. It took so much of me to make this trip happen. I knew I had to push past my fear to experience the place I have wanted to visit for so many of my teenage years into my twenties.

I’ve learnt so far that the people are more generous than I ever expected; their level of hospitality and kindness is actually humbling. I feel such a peace here and so far solo travelling has felt a joy and has been so freeing. Yesterday I met a new friend at my accomodation and we spent the day together cycling around and exploring the Mount Fuji area. Apparently this time of year is rare to get such a clear view. Our host (a sweet older man called Koike) told us to get up at 6am and that he’d take us to three viewing spots, without us even asking. En route he pulled in to Family Mart, one of the convenience stores over here and asked us both if we wanted tea or coffee and then bought us one. So thoughtful.

Currently on the bullet train heading down to Kyoto. Here are some small captured moments from the past week.

Soft places 🍂
Slowing down into the colder months.
People are special. Siblings are precious. Being outside is so good for your mind and heart; trying to do lots of it with friends. For the first time ever Autumn hasn’t felt quite as fleeting as normal 😌🍃 by @bethcathkey
