Understanding the city as a process, the exhibition Open Archive for Urbanism – What is the city? What can it do? What should it do? aims to open up moments for intervention and opportunities to actively shape a place to live. It is built around a modular library that visitors can use and alter in its order. Selected texts, studies, and publications on the themes of the city, accommodation, neighborhoods, labor migration, large-scale housing projects, and periphery/center show how places, societies, and neighborhoods are formed, up to the present. BETON Berlin 29 Gili Avissar Date: March, 03, 2026 Location: Entrance Böcklerpark: corner of Segitzdamm / Erkelenzdamm Berlin-Kreuzberg (Heinrich Baller-Pavillion) … For Gili, this new space brings together protection, refuge, and longing — almost like a landed spacecraft that briefly docks and opens up its own field of possibility. It appears at once sheltered and alien, familiar and remote. Through the installation in Kreuzberg, formal interventions within the urban fabric become more visible, and neighborhood-specific — that is, spatial — relationships more clearly legible. by @beton__berlin
